My second 240Z walnut shift knob arrived today and it is beautiful! This is the second shift knob that I have purchased this month, both from the same seller on eBay. The first one was a 5-speed shift knob and I liked it so much that I ordered a second one, a 4-speed walnut shift knob. Both shift knobs are for my two '71 240Z projects. They are the same size and shape as the original 240Z wood shift knobs, but are a much better quality. Max is great to work with and I highly recommend him and his high-quality walnut shift knobs. I took some pictures of the 2 new knobs along with my original, badly-faded and peeling plastic chrome ring on the bottom shift knob. Here's the…

For you guys having parts plated... Are you shipping them, or is it always a personal drop-off ordeal? I'm thinking... If you ship them boxes of parts, then maybe I could do the same. But if you are dropping them off in person, then I would have to be in the same location as you. I would like to have some parts plated, but I don't even know where to start. Looking to the collective for ideas.

While searching the web I came across someone selling these reproduction panels that were handmade and took 3-4 weeks to get once ordered. I cannot find that person/company again. Does anyone know who makes this panel besides Tabco and JDM Parts?

Does anyone have really good photo of this decal, I thought I could remove it to plate the cover, but I destroyed it in the process without taking a good photo first. I hope to get it reproduced.

I really need some help and search hasn't been my friend. I have a 6/70 car that had its doors & strikes removed for paint. The doors and strikes are now back on the car. Both doors line up great but both need to be slammed pretty hard in order for them to latch. Is there a technique to aligning the strike other than total guesswork? The car doesn't have any weather strip on it yet and both doors closed perfectly prior to the latches being removed. I should note that I don't have the dovetails installed on the doors yet. I could see how that might help a little bit but they seem to break easily if under too much stress. Any advice? Thanks

I need to either rebuild or replace the steering rack in a late 70 build Series 1 car. I have a 2/71 parts car that I can rob the rack from to rebuild without putting mine out of commission. However, is there an online tutorial for this and a rebuild kit, or is it recommended that I find a replacement rebuilt/new rack? Thanks in advance.

I really want a project car. But im debating what will run it. Do I leave the stock L24 engine? Maybe bore out the cylinders? Do a complete swap? If i swap it, what's a good cheap engine to use? I dont really know where to start with engine builds.

I bought this pair of replacement seat belts at Motorsport Auto today. They are made by Retro Belt. The hardware for both sides is identical, yet the installation is definitely not the same on the left and right side. It seems like the hardware is set up for the passenger side. A couple of mounting mounting brackets have a bend in them, and they are both bent the wrong way for the driver's side. There are no instructions for mounting these belts in a 240Z ,by the way. There is a one-page instruction on some extra work needed to mount them in a '70-'71 (extra hole needs to be drilled in the car), but nothing else. That made the job much more difficult than it needed to be…

So I almost lost the Z this afternoon. I probably would not have been hurt, at least not seriously, but the car would have suffered significantly. With that in mind, does anyone have a recommendation for a dashcam that they like?

Looking for a picture of the original factory installed 240z inner door plastic vapor barrier. I have been so busy the last 3 years with www.240zrubberparts.com helping out other owners with their projects, my project has been stalled out. I started working on getting the doors back together today. Everything has been replated and installed new window rollers and cups.
