So I bought the s30 with i documents and getting a registration (title) isn't a big deal. I'm basically finished that BUT the insurance company tells me the car was registered out of province and that I need a pre registration safety inspection. Frig, how am I supposed to get and pass an inspection on a car that's completely torn down. My options are put it together and bring it in, or do I continue on the path of building it and hope at the end of the line I don't get screwed somehow and have a car I've put a bunch of money and time into that I can't register for some reason. Ahhhh I'd like to go with build it and deal with it later but I wanted to do marker lig…

We've all heard Z headlight nacelles referred to as "Sugar Scoops" due to their unique shape and similarity to a large commercial sugar scoop.. I think mine qualify as "Ash Trays" in light of the ash fallout from the local forest fire over recent days. It looked like it was snowing, but the temperature was 122º and the flakes were ashes from the nearby blaze. Dennis

My car left for the body shop last week. I mentioned to him the condition of the vin tag and he said he could drill the rivets and clean it up a bit. To me, there doesn't seem to be any good way to clean this without removing the ink. Has anyone found a good way to clean it up without damaging it? If you were me, would you have the body shop remove it to get a better paint job or would you leave it alone and tape it up and paint around it? Thanks Gary

I swore I was done with big restorations for.a couple of years. I was even going to simplify things around here and get rid of one long term project (remember the 73 I have, I mean, had, for sale? Yeah that one). Well along the way of selling the Z, one of the potential buyers says to me, "I'm interested in talking to you about buying your Z, but want to mention I have an older Z that I've been sitting on for a few years. Maybe you'd be interested in looking at it?" So I ask a couple of important questions like "What's older mean?" And "whats the VIN". Took hime a while to go to it, an read the VIN's. One he says reads 25401 or something and the other says 03798. …

I have a Midland 75-822 CB radio and I would like to get the adapter to use it in the car. The part is #18-821. I know people here have bought them, and maybe there are some surplus adapters. The dry cell battery box is available, and I suppose you could solder some wires into it to plug into a 12V source, but you still need the antenna connection, unless you rely on the stubby antenna which probably won't nave much range, but at least better than an FRS radio. ThxZ

Just purchased 1971 #24871 great condition. With original passenger sea cover and a drivers side replacement. Both look really good , but the drivers needs to foam. ... badly. I want to replace both seats with new foam and leather covers. Any objections to going with leather over the stock vinyl? Good idea or bad?

My Zilver is hankerin' to get spruced up for ZCON 2018 in Atlanta. 1st on my list of many: NOS Nichira muffler waiting to take its first deep breath--no more deductions for a "rusty tailpipe" or "can dirt". In storage for years. Time to go to work.
