Figure I would contribute to this Forum with my experience on the I had no idea what I got my self into 240Z project. Maybe it will help others restoring their Z or thinking about it. Bought my 240Z back in 2010 or 2011, cant remember, from a student that went to the same college as me. I remembered seeing him drive the car around campus and was in ahhh every time. I usually saw him driving it same day of the week in one my classes seeing out the window during class session. Every time I wasnt able to focus on the class discussion. One day when I was browsing craigslist for Datsuns because I thought I was ready for one, I saw the same car. It was like a calling t…

Hey guys, ive seen every post online on cutting out the spindle side bushing and that is an easy/obvious busbi g replacement procedure for me but I'm scratching my head on the frame side bushing. The bolt that is on the end with a massive washer is off. So I can see the knurled face of part of it and the tube which is part of the control arm. But what's the plan to pull this thing off? Never dealt with a bushing this style before just standard press out or burn out jobs. Any info is appreciated. Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk

I recent discovered that the titled grommet/Bellows has a rip in it. was looking for a replacement. Talked to Steve (NIX240 IIRC) about the one he has for a 240z, we measured and determined that it was not the correct size. Same goes for the power antenna pad grommet that I am also on the hunt for. I am trying to make sure to keep the water out from that area, seems like both those are crucial. For now I have used some butyl rubber sealant around the pad but would prefer a better cleaner solution. Any leads on these parts?

Looking at a 71 survivor which was mentioned a few days ago in the title "Too rich for my blood". I have spoken to the dealer and gathered additional information. It's a two owner car with what looks to have a very solid body, 48,000 miles, original interior and paint. It sat in storage for 11 years before the dealer purchased it. they flushed the fuel tank, rebuilt the braking system and carbs, flushed the coolant and changed the fluids to get it running again. I had the dealer send me a bunch of under-body pics and pin point any flaws in the paint. I am trying to figure out how to include these photos since they were sent via Google Drive. Dealer has a little room…

I've done some googling and can't find the answer I need. One of my front tubes is trashed 1971 240z, my buddy has a pair of 280z tubes/spindles, i understand they have a larger outside diameter, in terms of my setup and want onto run these Cosmo coilovers to start out and get my chassis a roller, can I run 280z front tubes on a 240?is there length/spring mount differences I should be aware of,should I buy em for 100 bucks or cruise the web for another set of 240 tubes. There's a set locally but buddy wants 250.bucks and they have more rust crap on em than mine did. Main problem with mine was NO WAY to get the strut out. She was welded in there with rust ,and in the ef…

Looking for suggestions to clean stains from the white Vinyl in this 71 Z that I just acquired. I'm recovering the seats with new vinyl but would like to save the door cards and the wrap on the trans tunnel. I have tried a number of household cleaners but have haven't had much luck. Thanks for any suggestions! How do you guys like the groovy white/blue seats?? Jay

UPDATE 10/8/2017: Decided to make this my "build thread". Summary: I recently bought a 1978 280z with an L28ET swapped into it. The owner did the swap in 2005 and left the car almost completely stock otherwise while driving it 1k-2k miles per year. It is a perfect base car for a fun project! My goal is to make it drive/handle like a modern car and eliminate any weird noises. I don't know much about the Z's or older cars in general, but I have done a lot of suspension work with my Nissan Xterra and several motorcycles. Once I freshen it up and get suspension and looks down, I'll likely start adding to engine power. Key: [x] = Done [-] = In progress …

New here and just bought my first 240. Doing restomod with coil overs but trying to find out if my desired rota 17x8 wheel with plus 4 offset and 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear tires will fit without rubbing stock fender well. Advice would be much appreciated.

I'm reinstalling the diamond pattern material in my 72Z after removal for paint. Does anyone have a recommendation for the best adhesive to use or maybe also what to avoid using?
