Finishing my 1970 240z S/N #509 project. I need to find the "plastic" inspection panels clips. Are they available or maybe someone has a couple from a parts car. I have a 280z dash with gauges for sale. Excellent condition but I don't know if the gauges work. Also for sale the rear window louvers, door panels, seat covers, carpeting, headliner and taillight set. This is all original used stuff, "driver" condition. I like to see it go to someone that could use it instead of throwing it all out. Also a new dash cover, not the full cover . What is the part that is under the washer reservoir toward the firewall, between the clutch cylinder and fender? …

I recently pulled the fuel tank out of my 1975 280Z to have it cleaned and so I could work on reducing the smell of gas in the cabin. I'd love to replace the 17mm (5/8") vent hose that connects from the tank to the vapor reservoir and the 17mm hose that connects the filler to the vapor reservoir, but I can't seem to find these parts. I question whether or not the existing hoses are presenting much of a barrier to gas vapors. Anyway, I was thinking about replacing them with 5/8" fuel hose; however, the hose wants to kink when bent in a fashion similar to the old hoses. Is there still a source for replacement hoses, or a good solution to using the hoses that are readily…

I'm the original owner of 1974.5 260Z. The gas gauge started to read less than reality 15 years ago to the point a full tank read 1/3 full on the gauge last year. Then it just sat on empty and never changed. I did pull the sending unit and checked with a meter. All good, leading me to suspect the gauge. I've recently started using a battery tender and while on a drive this morning noticed the gauge reading 1/3 full. However, when I sat a light the reading went down to 1/8. Green light, the gauge went back to 1/3 full. I'm thinking the float is probably saturated but the larger question is what's up with the gauge? Do I need to replace it or could it …

Hello all, Getting ready to take the plunge and swap the 4 speed trans and diff from an '83 280zx non-turbo to my '75 280z. From everything I've read this is the desirable swap for the stock 280z. Better than the late 70's 5 speed setup. Setup was removed from a running car with 100k+ miles. Differential is the R200 with 3.90 ratio. Any things I should watch out for with the swap? I plan on changing seals in the trans and diff before installation. Should I completely rebuild the trans while out of the car, eg syncros or gears? For the trans tear down is the process straight forward any unusual things to be careful with? I have…

took Dat Boi (my nickname for my 75 z) to Smiths Station AL for a family visit, 400 miles each way, avg 75-85 depending on interstate traffic. slower up hiway 280. Avg 25 MPG, found a ethanol free GATEs filling station at mile 439 in Florida on I 75 for those interested in where to get gas. No problems at all until the return trip. It was hot and I was running the AC, Stopped at the Gainesville rest stop and noticed carpet on driver side was damp, pulled it up and found it soaked from the tunnel on down. A quick taste test (yum) showed no signs of antifreeze so I figured must have been the condensate. I was not in a good position to work on it, so turned off the AC and dr…

The Nissan Heritage Collection was passing out these caps at the Mitty this weekend. They made 1970 copies of the hat, and Ethan from Nissan was nice enough to give me a couple of extra for Georgia Z Club giveaways.

I was looking at pictures of my speedometer on my 72 z and realized there are 6 numbers on the dial but only 5 are visible. Since there is a trip meter with tenths I guess they either decided to have you refer to it or they just couldn’t center the speedometer numbers and hid the tenths that are the same color white. Anyone else familiar with this? Phil Smith
