Looking for the Z Oracles to help enlighten us neophytes on the 280z ECUs. I have acquired several ECUs at junkyards, EBay and CL. I thought it might be a good to have a couple extras and would sell the others I don’t need. I got them all at great prices...couldn’t pass them up. Here’s my situation. My car is a manual tranny, it had a AT ECU (A11-601-000) in it. The wasn’t running and I thought I had isolated it to the fuel pump relay because the pump wouldn’t work when I turned the key on. I replaced the ignition switch, pump relay and ECU all at the same time and the car was able to start so I never isolated it to any single part. Bench checking the old Fuel Pump…

I have removed the windshield wiper assembly from my 73 Z project. I noticed there are felt washers between the linkage arms. Anyone have any idea where you can buy something to use to replace these? I thought about using neoprene washers but thought they may not allow the arms to move smoothly enough. Any thought or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Are all of the bolts not only for the front cover but for other pieces on the engine have blind holes that do NOT go to water or oil jackets. I dont want to miss one and then spring a leak.

I found 4 original scallops today for $100. They look great too. pictures when I get them, they're already removed from Marketplace and I didn't get a copy of the image beforehand. They will be the last original parts I need for when the time comes to sell my baby doll. Many years from now.

Since the middle of May, I started getting the garage organized. It had not been a real priority in years, and it showed. Working from home made it easier to spend time in the evenings, and the portable air conditioning unit made it a lot more tolerable as temperatures got up to summer norms. Some weekends were spent working on the garage. Some were spent going to car meets (and other car activities), and some were spent working on other people's cars. May turned into June, and June turned into July. Finally the garage was in a condition where I could unbury the 73. I bought the 73 in late June 1993. I wanted to learn how to work on cars. Well, I got a lot of le…

Those who have attempted installing an s30 headlight cover with chrome trim probably can tell you that it's a bit of a cluster. The moldings are not all that great and/or uniform, and there always seems to be an alternate positioning on the bucket that yields, at first glance, a better fit, but ends up causing problems with either one of the mounting holes, or creates a larger-than-desired air gap elsewhere on the cover. I'm here to tell you that after my first install, I don't have the answer for you. But I do have a cheat which seemed to make the installation a bit easier and cleaner. It yielded one decent fitment, and a supurb fitment. I hope this knowledge wi…

I don't need anything fancy. Just looking for one somebody has used and been happy with. Just enough to fit well and keep the sun and rain off it. It's parked outside in So.California. Doesn't need to have a lock on it or anything. I can stop by Motorsport Auto and pick one up if they have an option you guys like. I'm also happy to order online.

So having a numbers-matching Series-1 car is great. Lightweight, there's a limited number of them, and it's plenty quick as it is. But then you all start chiming in about suspension modifications, transmission and differential swaps, motor modifications, and all order of wild sounding things that sound... well, awesome. So, I grabbed a beer, hunkered into the couch, and had a nice long brainstorming session. In the end, I believe I came to the same conclusion any sane car guy would: Buy another one. I located this car on the Charlotte, NC Craigslist: "1970 240Z, with SCCA approved roll cage. This car was running when it was parked. Body condition is good except for…

Okay, I need to create a mount for my iPhone, instead of tossing it in the console where it's unusable and slides around making a bunch of racket. Personally, I'm not looking for the glass suction cup style mount either. I was thinking of mounting it low and to the left of the shifter, perhaps using the side screw on the front of console and fabricate a bracket. I don't much use a phone while driving, mainly for using Maps or Waze. Anyway, if anyone has figured out a clever way to mount their iPhone or Droid, let's see how you did it. 🤔 Thanks!

Hello Are rebuild kits still available for rebuilding OEM Nikki fuel pump…or are any vendors out there doing this? I searched the old threads but they are all pretty dated. Thought I would try to get some fresh input. Thanks Jim
