Hello, I am new to the forum and just joined today since I picked up my first Z car today. A little about me, I live in Pennsylvania (Lancaster) and have been working on cars since before I got my license (20 years). I've done a ton of body work and a good amount of mechanical. I don't have the patience for electrical work but I am working on it. My daily driver is a Ford pickup, my other daily is a F80 M3, and I have a few Ducatis for some extra fun on the side... 😃 So as if that wasn't enough, I decided its time for a new project and picked up a '76 280Z. The car seems very straight and solid but the previous owner put the body in primer so I don't know what demons…

Well after spending the past month in the "Help Me!" section, my 1975 280z lives! I figured it is a good time to start a build thread in the proper section to showcase my next steps. Lets see, where do we start? The story goes that this 1975 280z was an Arizona car for the majority of its life. The owner parked it sometime around 1993 (last registered tags) due to an "ignition issue". It certainly looks the part for sitting nearly 30 years. Odometer says 80k miles, but maybe this is 180k? Looks like it was the silver blue originally then repainted, and finally the fading took over. The engine turned freely and nothing seemed to be seized. It was a clean title and onl…

Does anyone know if Nissan Canada use a window sticker like these on the 69-70 cars? Maybe even earlier on a 510. From what I read it was a US law to have them, but not sure about in Canada. @zKars @grannyknot @Namerow @CanTechZ

Found a pair of NOS red seat cushions in my stash that I don't need anymore. I think my dad bought these in the early '90s and they've just stayed with the car ever since. What do you guys think is a fair price?

So this is a follow-on to this post, but i didn't want to clutter up my resto thread with too much troubleshooting, and I thought a standalone thread might be more helpful for others battling the same issue. Long story short, my '72 240Z starts and runs fine initially, but dies after for 10-15 minutes, and won't start again for minutes at a time. It's gotten me temporarily stranded, fortunately not too far away (yet). Fuel system: Tank cleaned out Fuel lines blown out New primary filter, and secondary inline filter installed near tank Fuel pump recently rebuilt Carbs rebuilt by ZTherapy about 12 years ago, float bowls properly we…

Brigham City, Utah, Sept. 7, 2024 - 1,070 cars. I found I had relatives/in-laws with Z's, we were the only Z's except for a 370Z that was with the tuner cars. The ZX is an original turbo car and the 280Z has a LS under the hood. Different generations, we had a blast and I'm old enough to be their grampa. Funny, one kid about 12-13 walks by and says "look, Jaguars".

Onto the next thing… Yes, I know I’ve got several other threads that aren’t resolved yet, but I need to solve this issue before resolving those issues🤦🏼♂️ First of all, thanks to everyone whose been so helpful to me in sorting out all these gremlins in my Z. I drove it for the first time today after slowly building it over the past year. Seemed to run well, but not quite all sorted out yet… 1972 240z, L28 with SUs. My tach isn’t working right. I have done the 280zx dizzy upgrade, and wired it according to this diagram… I do not know much about the coil, but I suspect it’s from a 280Z because the engine was L28 swapped at some point. Car sta…

I recently received z therapy carbs. I installed them with very little fanfare. I was able to get the engine started pretty easily but I didn't fine tune the balance or mixture. Then I replaced the choke cable for an unrelated reason. Now that I am trying to adjust the carbs, I can't get it to run very well. The valves have been adjusted and the timing was set. It has new plugs and wires. The carbs were topped with oil and the vent caps were removed from the float bowls. To adjust the carbs, I warmed the engine and was able to balance them, but the choke linkage needs to be slightly on in order to keep the engine running. I started adjustment with the mixtu…

Welp, I'm currently trying to tune my engine, as some of you know from my other recent thread, but now I've got another issue that came up. That "for sale" sign is looking awfully tempting!!! Was starting and tuning my car just two days ago, and the ignition switch was working fine (It's an aftermarket unit from Zcar depot BTW). Went to start the car today to do more tuning, no crank. I hear the typical sound of a relay turning on in the passenger footwell, but no starter solenoid action. No 12V power at the starter solenoid when the key is in the START position. Used a remote starter trigger directly on the starter solenoid and she turned over and sta…
