well a friend of mine showed me this iron cast cut out, its basically a y shape pipe that you install before the cat and comes with a switch that basically lets you run from normal exhaust for city streets and highways and then when you want you can switch it to run threw the pipes second open witch is just running open headers basically, i was just wondering if this would be safe or at least not harmful for my car, ive ran open headers before and it sounded really mean , i mean i think it should be ok without damaging it, i dunno if the lack of back power is gonna be an issue or not, i mean i running a newly built 280 z engine thats been bored out to a 300 liter and has…

Has any on ever heard of using a chevy thermostat cover on the Z thermostat housing. I know I have heard somewhere that it can be done. I just don't know if you use the 70's style or the later style. I ask because I am doing a JTR radiator change on my Z in the next two weeks or so, and instead of using a hose splicer or the JTR kit I would like run a longer hose to a swivel thermostat housing.

Actually two dumb questions. 1. What does the "Z" stand for? 2. What does "HLS30" stand for?

I have a E88 head I'm getting rebuilt. The shop is charging me $305 for the work minus the cost of the valve stems. Does this sound reasonable? DeeDee

I tried to find the thread concerning the 240z on Ebay a few weeks ago. The one that had the amazing list of parts but the photos were lacking. Anyway I tracked the guy down in L.A. He agreed to sale me the N42 race prep head so I jumped. The parts this guy has new in boxes and just laying around in bins labeled is simply amazing. Everything I mean everything you could think of brand new. Coil over sets, rubber seals, rear disc brake conversions, Twin TD06 turbine set with rebuilt turbines, emblems, anything with a fairlady badge, G nose kit with hinges, Brand new Watanabes with Brand new Nito's, R200 brand new never installed, energy suspension kit, Triple carbs kit…

Well I was just skimming through the clasifieds section on sites to find a 260z and well this one seems different. I asked the seller to send me some more pics of the car and it seems like some kind of special edition, but no info on the car was brought up on google. Can someone please fill me on this car strange features. It seems the interior is a bit different from what im use to its tan or butterscotch yes, but it has multi shades of brown stripes in the seat and an DATSUN emblem on the dash below the three gauges:surprised . The exterior looks like a regular early 260z but the rear spoiler looks like the one on the special edition 280z and says what i thought to be…

This is only Z related because I am an owner. The family and I will be relocating, courtesy of Uncle Sam, to Las Vegas, NV. I will begin my recuiting duty at Centennial Station in October. The bad news is that we wanted to go south. The good news is I will be able to make it to next years West Coast Nationals. Z yall west coasters soon.

Hi All, While coming out of a bank here in Palm Springs I ran into a guy getting out of a fairlady. I spoke with him for about 30 minutes about the car and it turns out that he purcahsed it 14 years ago from the original owner that brought it in from Japan while stationed in the military. The owner stated that he's driven the car daily for the last fourteen years and has never had to perform any major work to the engine or tranny. The car has over five hundred thousand miles on it! He has pictures of him and Mr. K. next to the car and even has Mr. K.'s signature under the hood. The car is in rough shape but it is all there and would be fairly easy to restore. It was…

I've reached the age where my practical family carrying minivan days are behind me, and after leasing a Altima for a little over a year, I'm enjoying driving again. I really like pretty much all the Z cars, but where I live you don't see to much of them. (Michigan) I'm not really interested so much in horsepower as a car that is sporty, handles well, reliable, and fun to drive. I've been lurking on a number of Z Boards and have these thoughts - 240Z - Looks like a great car but nice ones with no rust are somewhat expensive and at my age, certain creature comforts are appreciated. 260Z/280Z - Also nice cars, except for the hideous bumpers! Do they compare well with …
