Well, I was in a local restaurant a couple of days ago, and my '78 280Z was parked to the right of a big pick 'em up truck. We were both pointed out into the lane of traffic. The 'older' gentleman that owned the truck apparently got in it, pulled out, and turned right a little too early. The lower panel of his truck, just in front of his right rear tire hit the left side of my front bumper, on the plastic end piece. He moved about 3 feet after he started hearing the "squeal" of his truck rubbing along that plastic. He came back in to get me, leaving his truck in place so I could back up and try to minumize any further damage. So I backed up. And looking at the two…

My wife and kids were gone for the last two weeks, so I spent that time working on my 1973 240Z. Over the two weeks, I removed the old and installed all new weatherstrip (Precision Weather Strip Kit from Motorsport Auto), had my first experience with POR-15, adjusted my valve lash, changed my oil, lubed the chassis and installed one of Dave’s (aka “Zs-ondabrainâ€) headlight harnesses. I thought I’d summarize a few of my lessons learned as they may be useful to some of you out there. 1. Weatherstrip - The biggest pain with installing new w/s is removing the old w/s and adhesive. My wife has a heat gun which was a big help for softening the old rubber and adhesive…

Well, Southern CAlifornia weather has no allowed me to strat refreshing my Z. It has 24,000 miles and my Faher-in-law purchased it new, and has been in his garage for MANY years. The tags on the plate are from 1982. Thought that I would post some pictures for all to see. At least the car does not need Mull to rebuild it. You can't detail from the photo, but the dealer installed wheels have the original Bridgestone tires. Think that I am going to remove the tires and reinstall them on the original steel wheels sitting in my shed. Getting ready to pull the carbs and send them to Z Therapy. I had hoped to have the car running for the MSA weekend, but doubt it now. …

Here's a 77 280Z for $50 in the Bay Area. If someone wants to buy this and part it out I'll take the moustache bar. http://www.craigslist.org/eby/pts/152633250.html I'd get it myself but I don't have a place to store it or a way to transport it.

I was looking through some old post on car insurance, and specialty car insurance... And I took note on what Carl had said about Agreed value .. Carl said... "If anyone believes that they have an Agreed Value, that their Insurance Company will honor without exceptions, and pay in full in case of a Total Loss... on their "normal car insurance policy". Then I would suggest that your read your policy carefully again" And that got me thinking and looking at my policy... When I finally got the car put back together I called my insurance comapny and told them what I had, what I had done as far as Resto/Mod.. We agreed on a value for the car.. I had considered going with Hagerty…

My brother's friend let me and my bro part it out the other day. But, the strange thing was it was a rag top, was it after market or did some Z's come like that. Just wondering seems kinda weird to me.
