Hey, I'm new here so go easy if I'm in the wrong spot. To make a really long story short I may be buying my very first Z car. I am going to go to college next year and my 7MPG Trans Am just won't cut it anymore, although I do love the thing. I have always been into cars and have fixed just about everything on the TA, and many other cars so I am very savvy. Anyway, the TA has gotta go but I still need somthing that CAN be made to "go like stink, and yet, still have somewhat of a reasonable consumption of gas. I am looking at getting a 240Z. I'll be honest, although I have done my homework, I really don't know a whole lot about imported cars in general. And these litt…

I saw this car on ebay. looks sweet, but the rust at the frame rails looks kinda serious. got some body rust around the hood, smokes on start up and the brakes are spongy. is this typical rust for the breed? the car looks redemmable, but not having built one of these before, what's the consensus? what's the relative real world value outside of ebay crazyperson land? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4592192072&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

This guy must be Mr. Magoo or someone, because he can't seem to be able to read the serial number of this '71 Series I 240z correctly. Someone even asks him to take a second look at the serial # and he still manages to screw it up! Anyways, for a Series I in need of a lot of work the price seems fairly reasonable (a little over $800.00 with 8 hours left at the time of this posting) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-1971-Datsun-240Z-Classic-Sportscar_W0QQitemZ4592224617QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Has anyone ever bought from this place. Looks like there is a good bit of items for the Zeds. Prices don't look that bad. http://www.upgrademotoring.com/performance/240z.htm

(sorry; this is kind of random). its hard to believe that i have such a love for 240Z's and Datsun's in general. i've had my 1972 240Z for two years now...and i've never driven it. it died the day i got it, and i've been working on it ever since. its a weird feeling; but i also think its going to be very rewarding. driving around a nice Z...for the first time. sorry, i had to let that one out of my system.

Guys I listed my one 72 Z, the yellow one which is in my gallery. I put it on ebay earlier, feel free to check it out or pass it on to a friend who wants an easy finish project. I would like to see it go to one of the club guys. I just have no time for this one and have lost my interest in Z cars. I have two XKE's projects in my garage right now and want an Italian with 12 cylinders instead of a bunch of Z's to drive when its nic out. I probably will be selling my orange 72 soon too. Here's the link, its a good well done restoration, and the good news is all the hard work is done. Just finish up the interior some exterior work and some easy details and enjoy it. h…

I have an 4/70 and a 6/72 240Zs. Both have fiberglass headlight buckets. I recently came across a metal one. Were the early ones metal - maybe they were replaced on my early car? If the early cars were metal then I will have to find another one.... thank you in advance

Hi all. I figured i would create this thread for numerous reasons. First off how fast does a Z really go? from 0-60? 0-100? top speed? whats it do in the quarter mile? stock? modified? I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread where everyone can share their videos, times, and speeds of their Z and maybe get some competition goin... Lets hear it guys! ( and girls)

Australian Classic Cars magazine has their cover story on a nice Kalihari (sp?) Tan 240z. They mention a bit of Nissan/Datsun history, but true to form get caught up in the "Goertz Myth" pretty early on. Nice car though... Anyone want to send 'em a letter of correction?
