Will the stock heat shield for 3 screw SUs work with headers? If not, can the stock heat shield be easily modified to work, or is it easier to fashion one from scratch? Thanks, Victor.

Hey folks! It's time to open up that wound again! We all know there's a little bit of tension between the 240z guys and the 280z guys (At least I have a little) about the differences in our cars. I wanna know why you think each car, 240z or 280z, is better than the other, and your reasoning behind it. No cheapo answers like, "The 240z is better because it's the original." We've heard that one enough, tell me YOUR reasoning behind your argument, even if it's simple. I think the 240z is an awesome sports car, and it has its place in history as a car built out of need, but the 280z was ALSO born out of necessity: to stay powerfull in the face of a gas and safety crisis. As a…

I thought that there were some threads that discussed this and had pix of the damage as well as the solutions to fix/prevent this (i.e. boxing in the framerail at the mounting location and running the mounting bolt all the way through from top to bottom). However, I can not locate this information and more importantly I could not find any pix! Can anyone please help?

I guess it really depends on how much I can get for it. Anyone interested email me at michael (at) datsunprojects . org or send a private message. Details can be seen at http://www.datsunprojects.org/mps240z/ I'm thinking if I do sell it'll be the chassis/suspension as one deal and everything else parted out or sold on ebay. Some details on the chassis/suspension: - Suspension parts blasted and painted with POR-15 and Chassis Coat black - Almost everythign replaced with new parts (bushings are poly, new tie rod ends, ball joints, bump-steer spacers, Eibach progressive rate springs, Tokico non-adjustable blue struts, new strut insulators (poly from MSA with camber …

It's getting harder & harder to find origianl, low-mileage 240's. This #918 Orange Z with only 43,000 original miles and located in Sacramento is at $11,100.00 with 2 days left at the time of this posting. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4570311383&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Here's a nice rust-free project that was started and the guy has no time to finish it. At the time of this posting it was only a little over $1,500.00. His loss and someone else's gain: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-1972-DATSUN-240Z-RUST-FREE-PERFECT-BODY_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ4572206566QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I'm interested in purchasing a 240Z with the intention of adding period correct, Japanese market (or good repros) parts, such as a G nose w/headlight covers, bolt on flares and Watanabes. Where should I start and what should I look out for ? Any info or opinions are welcome.

I have had a phantom leak in my Zed after it rains or during the night when the dew runs off the car. I could not figure out where it was coming from. Last night before driving to work I turned on the heater fan to defog the windshield. I had water spewing out of the sides and top of the fan assembly. How does water get in there? Can a fix be done to stop the water from entering the fan?
