Ive been really busy lately and I havent had much time to spend on the z. I just want it to be finished so I can go drive it. I cant wait until its done. It tortures me every time I go in the garage and see her just sitting there. To make me even more excited let me know what you love about your z.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4552905406&category=6187&sspagename=WDVW#ebayphotohosting i know how much yall like people posting asking if they should buy this car. well i am going to try and check it out at lunch today. I wanted to ask on here if yall see anything strange about the car or a reason to stay away. The hood is kind of throwing me off. it has the vents and doesnt seem to close all the way (it could be they didnt close it for the pictures). Also there are a lot of random wires going around. i guess thats from his CB setup. the engine compartment looks like a mess so it should be quite a project. than…

Does anyone have a picture of the "OK" decal sticker that goes on the passenger quarter window? If not, does anyone know where on the window the decal goes? Thanks for your help. Finally finished 17 months later.

I dismantled the speedo drive on the side of the gearbox to fix the oil leaking out of it and put it back together - then nothing - speedo no work anymore I have since pulled it apart 3 times thinking that the cable was not engaging into the back of the speedo. Still no work! Yesterday, I took out the drive from the gearbox and felt the cable engage into the back of the speedo (thought I did anyway) but still no work. I have checked the cable and it is in one piece, the teeth on the drive look ok. Is there anything else I should be looking for???? Biker

I was watching Full House tonight and a Valvoline ad came on. My brother said, have you seen this before? (he must have) I said, no that I had not and I continued to watch. The add went like this: There is a guy who makes automotive art, and the ad shows him airbrushing something and painting a picture. The ad shows his studios and other stuff. All of a sudden WHAM!!! he is checking the oil on a beautiful orange 240z!!! I could not believe it!!! My heart actually raced! There was a great shot of the engine, and it ended with the guy standing in between his orange and white 240zs. He said something about how they were works of art, or something of that nature. I…

I was resetting the trip odometer on my 280Z yesterday when I refueled, and for some reason, the cable inside got all bound up and wouldn't turn. It worked fine and turned freely until yesterday. I was on the second time around and the numbers are all stuck on 4s now. Is there a fix for it? Doesn't want to turn backwards and loosen. thx

Hi, I have been lurking on this board for a while. From what I have read it seems to be a great bunch of enthusiasts! I currently have a S2000 and want to get an early Z. My dad had one when I was young and I love the classic looks and performance of these cars. I live in Canada where winter and rust got most of the Zed's up North. Finding one in good condition is difficult if not impossible. My question is; am I being realistic in looking for an early Z for between $4000 and $8000 USD? I would like an original car with no mods. What I ultimately want is a nice summer driver with good paint, no rust, original interior and some 15" Rewinds. I have some mechanic…

Hey guys- Very new to the forum...seen a lot of good info here. I'm trying to decide how much to pay for a Z I found - it's a 1978 280ZX, 114k miles. Body/interior are in mint condition. Engine has been either rebuilt or replaced, and has 10k miles on it. Clean title. Now, I haven't gone to look at the car yet for myself...a friend found it for me. It seems the pre-1974 cars are more desirable for weight/handling reasons. But considering all, what would be a really good deal on this car? What are the main things to look for (big ticket repairs, things that tend to go out, etc.)? Links to buyers guides are fine...no need to reinvent the wheel. But it would be nice …

I tried to post a direct link to Home Depot website. It does not work It is the Lincoln Electric Weld Pak 3200HD Wire Feed Welder Model K2190-1 You can visit the website but I will just copy the specs here too. Also included is virtually everything you need to MIG weld mild steel. Just add a cylinder of shielding gas. Rounding out the package is …

yesterday my car lost power as it would when you run out of gas. i unplugged the fuel hose from the fuel filter and nothing came out when i tried to start the car. then i unplugged the hose before the fuel filter thinking that maybe the filter was clogged. still nothing. im convinced its the fuel pump but i was told it could be a problem with the relay or some electric problem. how can i test this?
