Old Z folks (the cars not the people) Looks like sombody may be buying the "doesn't need much" nice green 240Z I've shown here. So...there's a "fixer-upper" '76 280Z with an alleged 70K miles, I'm considering. You know, one of those "pay me now, or pay me later" situations. Runs and drives pretty darn good. Very tight body and steering, good brakes. Feels like it may have those 70K miles. Basically sat for the last 4-5 years. Hoses, belts and some gaskets have already been replaced. No leaks, no smoking, some injector clicking. This 280Z is rust free (always a Central Cal car)...but....there's alway a but...while solid mechanically...needs cosmetics: faded orginal sil…

I've got just about everything in my garage, except a fire extinguisher. Thankfully, I've never had to use one to date, but would like to feel safer if a fire did start. Can you all suggest an appropriate one for all around use in a garage? I've seen different types like A, A-B, etc. I guess I'd concentrate on one for engine fires? thanks for the advise Bill

Just thinking back when I took my stepson who was 17 at the time for the first ride in the 77Z. He got in and asked wheres the airbag and abs system? He didn't seem comfortable knowing that if I hit something it was just air between him and the dash minus the bag. And if I lock up the brakes, they be locked .I looked at him the same way I did when he went down the side of my car with his bike handelbars at 5. I explained to him that back in the day the only safety equipment was the horn and brake pedal ,and somtimes even the steering wheel if your hands weren't covering your face in a moment of terror. Even did the when I was growing up...... thing. He just seems to have…

I know that you are in AR and thought you may be interested in this: http://www.zcar.com/classifieds/index.php?method=showdetails&list=advertisement&rollid=23072&fromfromlist=classifiedscategory&fromfrommethod=showhtmllist&fromfromid=29& For $300 you could have yourself a 280ZX turbo and a 5-speed to pop into one of your 240Z cars if you like. Would be a shame to see these fine parts to to waste in the junk yard.

How to Modify Your Nissan&Datsun: Ohc Engine by Frank Honsowetz If you have this book, what do you think of it? I'm thinking of buying it if for nothing else than for interesting reading. My Z is stock but I'm interested in doing performance mods here and there over time. Thanks, Steve

Hi all, here is a link to some "interesting" body and exhaust styling of Japanese cars. There is even a 260Z and a 240K in there too! http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/20050116tas2.html Does anyone know what the initial inspiration or the official term that they used to describe these cars?

I noticed this comment in Kats's Z Restoration Thread, not wanting to hijack the thread I'm starting a new one and wondered exactly what it is/was? 5.Steering lock mechanism/the one has currently available style,it's cylinder is relatively fat and a beeper switch is on the entrance of a key,but the other has early style which got narrower cylinder and a beeper switch is in the middle, right hand side.Do the judges mind it? I can't say I've seen this on any HS30 models. Was it unique to HLS30 models? MOM
