I've done the search with no results. Somewhere in the past I saw a list of VIN's as they apply to production dates and models but can't locate it now. I picked up a 240Z(?) rust bucket for $50 to strip parts off I know it's a 240Z because of the L24 indicated on the plate under the hood. It also has retractable lap belts but fixed shoulder belts. The VIN is HLS30-155955. Could someone tell me more? Just curious...

First off....let me say thanks to all the people involved in making this site as wicked as it is. I have not been a member here long, but in the short time that I have been stumbling thru....I have been genuinely impressed. I soon will start the restoration of a 1972 240Z, and am trying to absorb as much information as I can not only about the restoration process whether it be mechanical or body repairs, but also the differences within a particular model year (which may be few.....I don't know). What I am saying is, just surfing about the site I am hearing terms such as Fairlady, Samuri, L88 Head casting, etc...... and it makes me wonder just how many differences, if an…

Pick this one apart! I figure it is a $6,000 to $8000 car on a good day. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4536198385&category=6187 Too many things that are wrong with the "restoration", but a nice car. Check out all of the fluf and the pompas knowledge! Will

Hey guys, help me out, I lost the link...trying to show a porsche autocrosser a better setup for a hybrid than the chevy v8....(and I'm not into hybridz, just wanted to show him this rig) There's a website, where there are pictures of a blue 240Z propped up in a cafeteria or somewhere, and it has an Infiniti Q45 motor in it...and it's totally tricked out, mirrors on the ground, etc... Just wanted the link, so I can show my Porsche buddy... If someone replies, thanks in advance!

Another member posted a link to a 240Z site that included a link to the Yutaka Katayama Official Site. It's in Japanese, but thanks to AltaVista's Babelfish you can translate it to English. Here's how: 1. Go to http://babelfish.altavista.com 2. In the "Translate a Web page" field enter http://www.mister-k.com/ 3. In the drop-down select box select "Japanese to English" 4. Click the Translate button. (There is a one-click way to do it, but this site won't let me insert the script code.) Enjoy! There's a lot of good stuff here!

Hey all, That Best Motoring Fairlady Z japanese video that a member graciously uploaded screen shots from in the gallery last week was apparently produced in '02 although it's still currently listed on the japanese Best Motoring website as a currently available video special. Regardless I had the local Japanese bookstore here in Los Angeles see if they can order a copy (they are available in both VHS and DVD but there's some discussion as to whether the Japanese DVD is zone encoded or not...) FYI the retail for each in Japan is right around 2500yen which is roughly US$20.- If I hear more from them I will let you all know... http://www.bestmotoring.jp/digest/BMS/index.html…
