I have an exhaust leak at the front smog tope on my 72 240. What is the best way to fix it. The tub is cracked right by the nut on the manifold.

Was having a look at car magazines in a newsagent. Spotted a mag called Retro cars, that I had never seen before. English Mag. Modified classics, was the by-line. I picked it up and flipped through it, hoping to find some Z's. The first one I found was on page 14. An action shot of a rally 240Z flying through the air. The back wheels about a foot off the ground. Had ZG flares too. Nice I thought, but not worth buying the Mag for. The next one I found was the center poster. Somebodys Rally 240Z. Nice. Possibly worth buying the Mag for. The near the end of the Mag on page 88, 7 pages about the 240Z. "Datsun 240Z. It's the sports car the British motor industry should hav…

This is a nissan/datsun oil cap from the 70's, however I am not sure on what cars this particular cap was provided on. Anybody know? (What car?) (what country?) It looks a little like a 280ZX cap but I think its a little different.

Hi everybody, I just recently purchased a 1972 240Z, the problem is, is that I grew up around old Toyota Corollas and Celicas (the Z's sleek body lines and rich history finally got to me). Even though I did some research about vintage Z's before the purchase, I realized I really don't have any human resources or know anywhere to go when it comes to the Z camp. This is also my first Nissan, and the only Nissans I've ever really worked on were 240SX's. I was wondering if any Z owners around the San Francisco Bay Area could recommend a good mechanic and body shop that specializes in 240Z's? It would also be great to know of any parts resources in the area too (I only really …

Anyone see the new issue of Classic Cars (www.classiccarsmagazine.co.uk)? I only got to look for a couple of minutes at the bookstore. The 240Z is up against a few other cars but I dont' know exactly what the contest was. Whatever it was the Z won. I did notice that Goertz was credited for giving the Z its sex appeal... ANyway if anyone has more info on what it was about please post it here. I wont' be back to the bookstore for awhile and anyway I'm not dishing out $9 for a magazine. michael

Has anyone got an opinion on wrapping extractors in heat shield materials. Are there any power advantages e.g such as reducing engine and fuel heat?
