yes, I did a search for "leaded gas" The majority of the discussions seemed to be held by our aussie brethren, many used something called optimax, most seemed to use 98 octane gas straight up, claiming they didn't need the substitutes. So what do people stateside use? What Octane? Do you add in the substitute lead or no? I thought the lead in the gas acted like a lubricant for the engine. If you ran unleaded gas in a engine not designed for it it would run to hot and break down? I just got my new "toy" , a '73 240z, and am trying to figure out what I need to do to take care of it.

Hello, A friend of mine noticed a Z for sale couple days ago and knowing that I am a admirer of these told me about it. That afternoon went out to take a look and was not expecting much, but to my surprise it is a '73 240. I had to stop and take a look. My heart bout stopped when I got a closer look. This car was in great shape. As i was peeking in the windows an old man came out from the house and told me that he was selling this car for his sister-inlaw, because her husband had just died (his brother). We talked for a while and told him that i was very interested but had to check with the better half first before i could commit. I jumped in my car started toward home…

So, is the Fairlady Z hood emblem the same one as used on the 280ZX's? At first glance it appears the the same, however in the attached photo, the emblem looks thicker at the base. Any S30 Fairlady owners to confirm this?

I have been looking to purchase a Z that apparently has 12,000 miles on it. The man that was willing to sell it to me showed me the title and when he recieved it, the car had only had 11,000 or so miles on it, so he has not put much mileage on it. Although I know it is very possibly for the car to have 112,000 or <. Does anybody have any tips for me to help me find out wether that is the true mileage or not. Not the the car runs and starts perfectly. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot This guy was just a fool , I ended up buying a nice 240 anyways from another guy. Thanks anyways

When the sun hits the windshield at a low angle, it looks like my car was driven through storms of rocks & sand, with all the tiny little pits & small scratches. Is there a way to repair the glass so it's nice & clear again? thxe

Hey guys, im thinking of selling my Z (for a better one) what do you guys think a good price would be for: A 1978 Datsun 280Z, Black Pearl Edition Floor rebuilt, no bondo at all, New Pearl black paint job, all accessorys (louvers, ect) Rebuilt engine, 5spd, original radio and speakers. This hasnt been ALL done at the moment, but it will be at the end of this month. So, do you guys have any figures in your heads? i just want to get an idea.

If you go to Monterey Historics this weekend get some pics. Cars, girls, John Morton, girls, Pete Brock, girls, displays, girls, etc. I was at last weekends Trans-Am race. Excellent race Tommy Kendall started 13th and finished 1st. I will post a few pics when I get them back.
