Hello Folks, It's been quite a while since I've been on the board or worked on my Z, but I've had my 240z sitting in my garage under a car cover for the last 10yrs.. I recently retired and now have the spare time to spend working on the car again... When I left it parked in the garage it was running and drive-able... but having been sitting for the last 10yrs, I made up a list of the items that I'll probably need to do first on the car.. As the topic of my post states... I'm looking for a few good locale mechanic recommendations to work on the 'Z'... A lot of the simple to moderately hard stuff I can pretty much tackle (I thknk) There's a mechanic on the Eastside in Kirkland, Wa I'd like to use... but since his shop is so small, he's always booked... If I can't find a good recommendation.. I'm really tempted to contact Z car Garage in San Jose, and discuss the possibility of shipping the car to them for some major engine and suspension work Thanks for the input

Guys, need help with the wiper arms. Mine is a 77 280z and wiper arms i took off from that were #4 (#5 and #6 are zoomed). As you see they use some sort of clip that lock those pins when inserted. I cannot find replacement pin type wiper blades online. Now #1 are these i bought on ebay did not realize i need the pin type. But luckily I had picked up #2/#3 from a 240z. So these ebay ones fit nicely on them. I am sure the #4 is an OEM wiper arm as it says MADE IN JAPAN and most of my car has been stock which I have been restoring. So where to get these pin type blades? or should i shelf them and just use the ones i bought from ebay?

Guys, another hick up...my water pump is giving up. Recently hearing noise. ZCD has few different pumps. Which one do you guys recommend? they mention cast iron impeller does it matter? will cast iron not corrode? what does the original pump use? Need guidance ...

First I may not have all the info and that is why I’m here. So if you have any incite please let me know. I have a 1978 208Z factory convertible. As I understand it Nissan partnered with a company in Fort Lauderdale FL to build 180 convertibles. The VIN is HLS30447207. I was unable to find a decoding software that could tell me more about it. Then I read on here Nissan didn’t do a very good job of keep records. The fender kits are off of Jim Cook’s GTP racing car. Here is how the car came into my family. I was sanding the contact of the high beam switch today and I am such an arse. I dropped the metal piece that goes in the white clicker part. I am so mad, I cant find it in the garage. Anyone know if it is even possible to get one of these? Or does anyone have one? I am so screwed. A replacement switch is like $700.

My wife"s father gave her A 71z some years ago, I kind of inherited it when we married. Decided to give a try at restoring it somewhat. my question is, I removed the engine and all indication are that it is a 280z or zx motor. could someone tell me what I have? Its a N42 block with a N42 head. This car has not run in probably 25 to 30 years been in a garage.

I did a bunch of searches but I am still unsure how to test the system properly. My fuel gauge is not moving. It had previously worked. So I have a few questions: 1- How can I test the gauge on the bench to make sure it is not an issue with gauge itself? 3-When the wires are disconnected from the fuel sender is there a way to test and see if the gauge moves? 2-Anything else I should know? I attached the two pictures, the wires at the sender and the gauge Thanks in advance for your help.

I have an issue where I can not get my low beams to work. When I turn the switch to the little dot the parking lights come on. When I turn the switch to the big dot then nothing happens. With the switch in this mode if I turn on the high beams they work. High beams off, no lights. I do not know where/how to start troubleshooting.

Guys, i am hitting another issue. The ZCarDepot do not have the retainer for the hatch lock cylinder. It is a bit thicker than the door ones. Is there some other source or alternate product? They do have a 240z door lock retainer which seems a bit thicker but I have not tried it. Appreciate some help ...
