Hello, does anyone have specific knowledge regarding the specific difference between, Type A, Type B, and F8's are? While I like the history of Wat's and general statements like, "its a different type of offset" im looking for more specific information. I have seen several wheels that have been painted over and the factory markings have been lost over time or possibly sanded away in previous restorations. Please advise what the difference is between the wheels. We can leave out type R and type RS, as these are obviously different looking from the other wheels (in my opinion) with gratitude, Izzy

Hello, I am preparing for a glass out repaint of my 240z. I would like to source a high quality weatherstrip kit. Everything is online so I can't see them myself. I bought a weather stripping piece for the hood and it wasn't as good as the original. My body guy says he can reuse the chrome strips on the wind shield and hatch. Does anyone have a recommendation for good quality a weatherstrip kit? Thanks, Bill

I'm about to tackle the dropping and cleaning of my gas tank on my 1973 240z. I've read through this lengthy thread from 2005. For those of you who have done this, on the inside of the tank, is this kit all that is really required?: POR15 Fuel Tank Repair Kit FYI, I have called numerous radiator shops in my area, and none of them do gas tank work. So, I'm stuck with full DIY on this. Also, while I'm doing the work, what else makes sense to do on this 47 year old been-mostly-sitting-for-20-years car? Go ahead and replace the sending unit, for example? Vapor tank elimination? That was something I'd not planned to do. Thanks.

Today's saga is lifted from the pages of reality... In the course of the re-install of the '77 280's floor console, I discovered an anomaly in the operation of the hatch window Defogger; the switch activates the heating grid, but not the indicator at the console. No need to chase a bulb issue tho, as switching the ign. to "On" activates a "test" cycle (that is clearly operated by the "Seat Belt Warning Timer located in the relay group in the pass. footwell) that successfully activates the Defog indicator for a few seconds, so clearly the fault in not in the indicator. Nor is it in the connectors of each to the main harness, as all are original plugs that are clean an…

I'm doing the Honda wiper motor upgrade for my '71 (with the nifty electrical adapter harness), and everything is pretty clear except for one thing: how the stock wiper mechanism attaches to the motor. If I've read various posts correctly (here and elsewhere), the stock 240z motor has a "reverse feature" that stops the motor in the forward direction and briefly runs it backwards to the park position. Because of that feature, the connection between the mechanism and the motor shaft has some kind of a rotational clutch which includes a cam and a spring (with a tang) and a tabbed washer to make it work. I guess it was pretty state-of-the-art back in '71. Here's the…

So my heater blower motor stop working. Here is what I have done so far to troubleshoot. Ran power directly to the motor which tested fine. I had a spare switch and tried it which didn't work. I have power at the blower motor with the switch in line. In the wiring diagram I see a relay but cant seem to locate it. It doesn't appear to be the one on the passenger kick panel and only the horn relay is on the driver kick panel. Any clues on where it might be hiding?? Any troubleshooting tips are appreciated. Im a total noob at electrical which I think goes without saying. Thanks

I’m building a good solid driver. I’d like your opinion as to how to build a good solid driver with all the parts I have. I have two 1971s and an extra fuel injected engine an five-speed. Here’s the status of each: Red early 71 (Originally silver): Pros: matching numbers, later version of four-speed, mechanically sound, chrome and badging really nice. Cons: A whole lot of rust underneath and pillars, etc.. White late 71 ( originally silver): Pros: No Rust. Chassis solid, good brakes, Cons: L28 Engine not running, five-speed status unknown. bad clutch, PO paint job is poor, Interior has overspray, white overspray all over engine. Chro…

Hi guys, can a bad ECU cause misfire? May be a very general question but want to gauge opinion/experience. Also if I get a new ECU do I need any kind of programming? Even if it is out of a running another 77 280z?

the actual wire that connects the antenna to the radio that is. I decided to replace my orig as it had broken and I fixed with a splice. Radio reception not being that sensitive I decided to go the route of starting with replacing that, just in case I was having a loss due to the splice. Anyway bought 12ft thinking that should be plenty (and was the longest in stock at AZ). Removing the seat and safety belt reel, the metal cover by the door sill and of course the plastic rear quarter cover give you access. there are several attachment hold downs that secure the wire along its route, so I decided to just undo the old and put in the new at the same time to keep the lea…
