Hello from Windsor, Ontario Canada I purchased a 1973 240z, pretty clean car in Monterey, Ca and need some work done before it can be transported home. The previous owner had the engine & tranny pulled to repair rust around the battery tray, then planned to paint the engine bay and car. I've owned a few Zs in the past and it's certainly to my advantage having someone who's very knowledgeable with these, not someone who cannot identify where some of the parts go. I'm looking for someone who has the ability and facilities to get the car operational, basic installation. In order for a transport company to ship it, it has to start, stop, and drive on & off a tra…

If you are one of the people who understand pictures better than words, this should finally bring clarity to an often mis-understood subject of electrical current flow. Another way to look at this, is that VOLTS Is your undeniable drive to buy car parts, OHM’s is your wife doing her best to slow the purchases, and YOU are the AMPS, trying your best to buy stuff anyway!

Here's something to lighten your day. Until I bought a second 1971 240Z and had the two of them side-by-side, I may not have spotted it. I know you more seasoned Zed Heads will get it.

My first Z car, and I've got a list of items to check. This car has been driven very infrequently in the last 17 years, at least. I've run it a few 20-40 minute drives after changing oil and air filter and flushing gas tank. It has the flat top carbs. If for sure needs the gas tank dropped and restored. It also, on the last go round, after only about 20 minutes, and a gas station stop, idled rough and some brief dieseling. I'm sure the carbs need adjusting, but also want to replace the spark plugs. I've heard to get the "colder" running plugs. Any recommendations on the best set?

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum so I'd like to say hello! I'm an engineer and I'm trying to restore a 1970 Series I 240z in Philly. I bought the car sometime late February and since then I've been getting all of the tools I need to rebuild the car from the frame up. So far there are a few major areas of concern on the body and frame that I need to either replace or patch up including, but not limited to... Both rear quarter panels, trunk floor, both floor pans, firewall, frame rails (front), various lips, possibly an A-pillar and etc. I'm using CAD and the technical drawings from the factory service manual to try and make my own jig, but I'd like to know if…

I have a 1973 240z that the seat belts has been removed, previous owner took them out to install padding and carpets which he glued them down. I do not want to pull up the carpet to locate the bolt holes, can anybody provide me with pics of your seat belts locations where that are bolted in? The pockets for the seat belt retractors are also padded and carpeted over, I do not have any of the belts or retractors, planning on purchasing all new belts assy. Any help will be appreciated.

Hoping everyone is safe. I thought I'd share some art work from a graphic design artist out of Puerto Rico named Tito Gonzalez. Super talented and very nice kid doing the best he can on that Island that was still reeling from the effects of hurricanes and earthquakes when the global pandemic hit!

Has anyone color matched the red/orange jack handle with an off-the-shelf aerosol paint? If so, what is the manufacturer and paint product number that was used? Thanks, Keith

My 260 came to me with two keys, one fits the ignition, and the other fits the doors. However, neither key will lock the hatch. I read in the owners manual that these cars are supposed to use the same key for all locks. I can understand someone in the past may have changed the ignition lock, but why would the door key not operate the hatch? I would like to get the hatch lock functional. The door key fits in the hatch lock, but will not turn. Any advice?

Hello everyone, someone on reddit was looking for a model for the fuse box cover of the 280z. I made the model for them and also printed one for myself and it works great. I make parts for first gen rx7 like headlight bushings, wiper bushings and door pull cups and was wondering if there was any interest in me making these parts for the z community. I am also able to make the rubber top hat for the rear springs but don’t know if the community actually would purchase them or just switch to coilovers. Give me some feedback and your thoughts on this. Thanks.
