Took the skyline over to my dad's (Diseazd) for a family photo. Missing from the photo is my Z31, his Z32 300zx and his NSX. Was definitely too bright out but it was the only time we had.

Being struggling with these for FAR too long this afternoon. Yes, the seals are installed correctly, with the longer "leg" of the seal's "U" toward the outside. I knew it was going to be a struggle, but holy cow. I can get the bottom 2 screws in (barely), but the top two end up 1/2" or so off and will not go any farther. Gap between the seal and the body at the back at the window. I've tried silicone spray on the seals, and it helped a bit, but it feels like it's just bottoming out mechanically, not sticking. Any and all advice appreciated. Thanks as always.

Hello All, I got serious about buying a Z over the summer. I've been in love with them since I was about 8. I've been reading the forums for about six months and after test driving two found Layla three weeks ago. She's a two owner car, originally from VA but owned since 1976 from the guy I bought it from. He bought it from a Datsun dealership when it was three years old. He drove it around TX and TN in the 70s and 80s and into the 90s. 159,XXX original miles. He said the first owner installed a roll bar, chrome rims, and headers. I have all of his registrations and most documentation of stuff he's done to it. It has pretty much sat in storage for the past 10-15 years w…

Handbrake lever. That's an 'Emergency brake' lever for the ex-Colonials. A subtle dislocation from the norm..? Discuss!

I am having a hard time finding a picture from underneath a series 2 or 3 240z (my car is a 73 with round tops) showing the routing of the small vapor hose that comes from the upper left-hand corner of the vapor tank and connects to a steel pipe that goes to the engine compartment. I think it comes down from the vapor tank and through a grommet to the left of the filler tube...when I get underneath the car (gas tank not installed yet) I can't figure out how to run the hose. Does anyone have a picture of this...? Trying to get it right before installing the gas tank...! Thanks...Ryals

I have 1976 280Z w/ Rebello 3L L28 with Jenvey ITB's. Makes 325 hp. Took car to to first track day since engine install Monday. When tank gets to about 1/2 full, fuel sloshes away from fuel pick up in bottom tank causing engine to stumble. I'm using stock tank with original pickup and returns going to Airtex high flow fuel pump mounted on modified stock fuel pump bracket and stock fuel lines to fuel filter. Has anyone else had similar problem or solution? This is primarily a street driven car with occasional track days and autocross events. I really don't want to chop up and install fuel cell.

76’ 280z California version (manf. 9/75) I’m planning on doing my first oil change since purchasing the car about a year ago. PO’s mech used Royal Purple oil (20w50 HPS) and RP filter. It has been running fine, no leaks. There’s really no complaints, just looking to treat this old engine better if possible. After doing some research on the interwebs, I’m thinking about switching to Amsoil with zinc additive. But as usual when overthinking something simple, it leads to more questions. Anyone using this stuff? Is the zinc additive a good idea? Or should I avoid it and why? Recommendations on viscosity (the 20w50 that PO used seems a bit thick...)? Recommendati…

A buddy of mine with pets and a similar love of cars put me onto a great shop convenience and floor maintenance idea. Puppy Pads. Let's face it. If you have a Datsun, you have dribbles under your Datsun. If you take the engine out for example, you forget to cap the heater coolant pipes on the engine, and even though you drained the rad, when you tip the engine as it comes out, antifreeze hits the floor in great quantities. (I myself have never done this... I just imagine it's an issue). Puppy pad absorbent sheets are utterly fantastic. Big (30x23inch), cheap, super absorbent, did I mention cheap? 100 pads are $25 CAD at Costco. I used to use newspapers, but I no…
