Can someone confirm if the Green lead at the 2 term distributor block has a ground lead as well as the two green leads connected to it? My 1975 FSM is not clear on this, at least from what I could see in the actual wiring on the electrical chapter. The wiring diagram if I am reading it right does NOT show a grounding of the green lead. However on my car there is one, but it does not look factory. Furthermore if I disconnect it, the ign will not fire. IF I have the ign in the on position and start to remove it (causing an intermittent connect of the green wire to ground) the ign will fire (I can see the spark at the coil and here the injectors firing). Some other test…

Just a thought I have had wanting some of your opinions on. I have been collecting parts to swap my 280z over to carbs for about a year now. And between that and replacing bushing I am finally at a point where I have to make the final decision (for now) if I want to stay fuel injected or if I want to go with the carb/cam setup I have collected the parts for. I am doing the research right now to make sure I have all the parts, but my question is this would it be worth it to buy one of the universal wiring kits and rewire the whole car? I know a lot of wiring can be removed when going to the carb but it would also allow me to replace the old wiring and give it a cleaner loo…

So this one is an odd one to me as I've never experienced symptoms like this, and I'm curious what some of the more experienced L28 gurus think. I recently rebuilt an L28et for a friend of mine, which started from an external head gasket leak. Took the head (p90a) to a reputable machine shop, partly because they were the only ones around here that would actually straighten the head before resurfacing. He had the head for a few months (I believe he worked on it in his free time), but once I received it back, took roughly 3 months before it was running in the car. First startup everything was great, drove it easily for a couple miles, brought it back and p…

The ca ris in excellent shape as photos will show…I guess this car was restored or deep painted some years ago. Next week We’ll have at least one door rebuilt, below the doors and inside need some intervention. Here are some photos… Rear window acquisition…the car has the horizontal defrost lines and aren’t the correct…I found one vertical and job done…a few years ago…

Hey guys, as my 240z is still equipped with the almost 50 yrs old original pump I think I should get a new one as good measure. Is there anyone running the GMB pump? It looks almost similar. On Amazon there are mixed opinions (works fine, broke down after a few miles). Hi folks. I consigned my car again to a Houston auction house. The opening bid is $15,000 with no reserve. Here is the link: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/78726134_1972-datsun-nissan-240z

I’m opening this thread to document the process of refreshing my 1973 240Z. I have owned the car since 1980 and built 2 engines myself, in addition to running the original for quite a few years. This time, I decided to go with a Rebello stroker. Here is the car, and the motor that will find its home up front. the engine is an N42 block, with an E31 head. The head saved me quite a bit of my Rebello budget as it was ported and polished by B.C. Gerolomy in the 1980’s. Dave just freshened it and put an appropriate cam grind in it for me. One of my inspirations has been Duffy Mahoney’s build. We differ in that he used ITB’s and I will use a factory non-webbed, non-EG…
