I bought this 1972 240z two weeks ago at the Houston Mecum auction. I’m new to Zs and have owned mostly older Miatas as my weekend car. Here is the Mecum listing: https://www.mecum.com/lots/HA0419-372171/1972-datsun-240z/ The car has the build book with $26,000 in receipts. The prior owner had it for 17 years and did most of the work himself. I paid $13,750 for the car, including commission. There were three owners before me and the car has 107k miles. Any idea what the car is actually worth?

Found a leak in the outlet tube where it meets the gas tanks so I pulled the tank out. Only 1 EVAP line had to die to get it out. It'll be off to a radiator shop shortly for a fix and maybe a blast or a coat. Is there anything else you'd tackle while the tank is out? I'm eventually going to drop the entire rear suspension but the gas tank doesnt really seem to be too much in the way of that. Most likely going to replace most of the evap lines using 240260280z's and ConchZ's description and pictures:

Hey guys. I was wondering if people who have rear louvers can post some info about them, I know there are many different types and I'm interested in getting a set. I just don't know what to look for. Are there kinds that don't need to be bolted on or is that pretty much the only way to do it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I can get the BRE for $189 https://www.bre2.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=B&Product_Code=080A02&Category_Code=car_covers Or this tight fitting indoor black one that has some good reviews for $160 with a coupon code. It'd be a little harder to take off and on I think but I do like a tight fit. Giggity... https://www.carcovers.com/covers/cars/datsun/240z/1972/black-satin-shield.html#customer-reviews Opinions please.

Today, the Los Angeles Times newspaper ran a fun little story that the longtime Z owners among us may relate to. Here's the link: https://tinyurl.com/y2t4pxja Dennis

Woot! My yellow 240z was recently featured in the VTO Wheels Customer Spotlight! I was wondering why Alex wanted me to take some photos of the car.. Anyone notice the cat posing for the photo? His name is Mr Banks and will sign autographs. ? Thanks @VTOwheels Mike PS: One correction, I am running Tokico Illumina adjustable struts (it says I am running stock struts). p{ margin:10px 0; padding:0; } table{ border-collapse:collapse; …

The time has come to sell my car and I have listed it on Bring A Trailer. The auction is NOW LIVE at the following link: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-88/ It is a 1972 240z with an LS1 swap. Please spread the word if you know people who are looking for such a swap.

I knew this was there just didn't know how severe it was until today. Had my exhaust tweaked a little better and while up on his lift I took some photos. Passenger's seat has one all the way through. It had leaked out the heater cores water c o c k for years apparently and caused this. Will new floor pans take care of this? Thanks in advance. Cliff Driver's side, not as bad... Rest of it...

Saw this last week on Ebay. Used '78 parts in Forth Worth by a seller going by "mazda_nissan_heaven". The parts listing shows the "donor car" in one piece. Although missing all the Black Pearl dress up items as well as its' correct hood, the car was almost certainly originally black, as shown in the shots of the stripped doors that are for sale & shots showing the engine compartment. It also was built in 5/58, (same as the Black Pearl I own), and its' serial # and my car's are about 700 apart. I was in contact with the seller & told him what he probably had, but it appears the car was cut up before the Ebay ads were posted. The car appears to have been basically i…

This isn't mine, I just regularly look for Z's in my area. Not sure if the price is good or not, but might be worth it for someone in the area to check out! https://omaha.craigslist.org/cto/d/elkhorn-1972-datsun-240z/6900424407.html

Huge decision to make...Stainless hard lines or mild steel and then have them cadmium plated...? I like the idea of stainless, but have been told there can be sealing issues at the fittings. I have made the decision that pre-bent is the way to go and there isn't that much of a cost difference between SS and mild steel. I don't know the cost of plating, but can't imagine that it isn't cheap. It also stalls the work on the car. Opinions, please...!
