So many Z's, of all numerologies, have popped up that I thought it might be good to collect them here. Feel free to add old or new stuff. There's a bunch out there right now, for some reason. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1975-datsun-280z-26/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-38/ https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64614-1270-on-ebay-barn-find/ https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/62501-brand-new-280z/ https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64653-1970-nissan-fairlady-z-hs30-03647-on-craigslist/ https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64539-31k-miles-series-i-240z-up-for-auction-on-bat-over-100k-on-first-…

Hello all, I am going to document my build. Basically I have a garage kept series 1 240z. That hasn't driven since 1986, it needed brakes which she couldn't afford so it has sat since. It was resprayed in the 80s as well. Some bad overspray but overall it's a very rust free car. I actually found it in my neighbors garage. My goal is to drive it and enjoy it, but it needs some TLC. First and foremost I got it running, and that is when I made the decision to keep it and I have fallen in love. I will keep it mostly original, minus some brakes upgrades, wheels and BC coilovers. Maybe someday have a built motor for it, but not for now. Every…

Guys, the air ducts connecting to left and right air vents are ripped on couple of places. They are cloth kind of material and a bit dusty and tape doesnt stick. Want to keep the original ones as I put the dash back in. Any tips what to use to seal or repair these rips?

Guys two questions: 1. in pic#1 the S vacuum line connects to the control assembly inside the dash. There is some sort of a check valve in pic#3 mounted right under the magnetic valve where this line connects per pic#2. I assume it is the smaller end facing towards the firewall where this S line connects too? The other end bigger end will connect to magnetic end D and M via 3-way line. Is my understanding correct? Also, does it matter if the S1 and S2 lines on the vacuum tank are reversed?

Hey guys, so my dash is all ready (pending clock restoration). Windshield weather strip and this water **** are the only two jobs i need to get done before putting the dash in. What is a good sequence to take this one out as it leaks when i put the car in heater mode. Hopefully there is still vacuum (in think there is as i can move between hot and cold). During hot it leaks very small drops, good enough to rust my floor. Problem is my new carpet is also installed. I am thinking remove the pipe from the engine and let the coolant drain as much or should i drain from under the radiator? Once that is done, put a ton of towels under this thing and carefull…

I thought that there was a forum for this though did not see it nor could I find a related thread so I'm starting one. I recently saw an S30 Z car on Miami Vice season 3 episode 11 about 30-33 minutes in (on the TV version with commercials, a DVD version it will be earlier that this of course). In this video it is about 27-28 minutes in: https://www.nbc.com/classic-tv/miami-vice/video/forgive-us-our-debts/n30591

Hi Guys, is the $60 weatherstrip for windshield at ZCD a good fit? they also have a $400 OEM version. Whats the difference and is it worth it? later is backorder. What about installation experience? anyone? can it be done with the dash still ON? my last item on the list is windshield moulding. It is holding but center trip as come off as it is brittle. How hard it is to take the original one out. Remove the left and right trim from the pillars and push the rubber out? There is a good installation video here though:

I've just started thinking about these as I near closer to completion of my old z. They weren't on when i bought the car in'93, but as I pour over pictures of original early z's, it appears they all still have them in place. Follow up question: Are the rear hooks the same dimensions as the front passenger one?

Hi, I've been asked to recreate the 240z front signal casing and wanted to know where the weak points are from the community and any tweaks that would be desirable to make it better. Any suggestions? It would be good if someone has a picture of the 2nd light hole in the back so I can design that in.

Guys, dumb question ... do i also need to unplug the harness around the steering column for the dash to slide out? After removing the two steering column bolts the column has hardly moved. Is this because of the harness around it holding it in place? also, are there any bolt near the driver and passenger kick panels apart from the two facing upwards? I am done with: - remove center console - remove windshield finisher 4x screws - remove front instrument panel (also removed 2 screws holding the bracket for two center air ducts) - removed 6x dash bolts near firewall - removed 4x bolts near trans tunnel (2x each sides) - removed 2x bolts facing …
