My name is Jacqueline. I used to have a 2003 350Z. but being in college full time I was struggling to make the insurance payment. So I sold her and bought a Tacoma and a DRZ400SM instead. Well I found a 1981 280ZX for sale and I just couldnt pass it up. Its in pretty good shape, just some rust on the rear quarter panels near the wheels and the battery tray, and missing some interior panels. I am very excited to start working on it, cause Ive just about ran out of stuff to do on the 400SM.

hell'o i just joined this group. i live in arkansas not too far from memphis, tn. i just purchased a 1976 280z. this car has been sitting (i'm told for approx 1 yr). when i started the car it fired right up. although, there was alot of smoke that came out the exhust. it smelt of gas. i only ran it for approx. 20 seconds for fear of screwing something up. i am going to transport it to my barn tomorrw and begin general tune-up. i hope this begins a great relationship b/t me and my car (plus, you guys). well, i'm going to jump to the other forums to see what type on info i can obtain on the car and educate myself. catch you in chat. thanks shane ishmael

For the last 4 years I have been in the process of completing a ground up restoration of our 1972 240-Z. By 1987 it had become one more victim of our New England winters and salt corrosion. In 1976/77 the rear quarters and rocker panels were replaced along with new front fenders. The frame rot was not as apparent and it took ten more years of just summer driving for the front frame members to completely rot. The car was shipped to Florida in 1987 and completly dissassembled in 1989. The floor plus all the metal forward of the firewall was replaced with original Nissan parts that I had purchased in 1977. The bodywork was completed in 2004 and the entire car has been repain…

Goodmorning, Z friends, I am happy to be a part of a big family like the Classic Z car Club, any advice and suggestion is highly appreciated in preparing my z to the z club standards. My story starts with my Mazda rx-3, I was Eighteen. My brother was the one with the 240z. I was impressed when I first saw the Z by the way the front nose of the Datsun just looked at me like a shark ready to attack, at that moment I said to my self I have to have this machine, So after a few months of nagging my Older brother for the Z and $1,500. Later, I convinced my brother to trade his 1972 Datsun 240z. I am now 44 and I recently parked my car in front of my house and it was hit in the…

Almost fifty and I finally got a Z. I remember seeing my first 240z when I was delivering newspapers on my bicycle. I would drive by the car daily. It was orange, had a wooden steering wheel, and the inside was truly a cockpit. It was on the same lot as the Smoky and the Bandit Trans Am, but it was easy for me to see which car I liked. Datsun... hands down! I recently aquired a 1978 280z. My perceptons form early youth proved true. This car is 30 years old and it is the most fun I have ever had driving an automobile. However, I have been experiencing problems lately. I had the gas tank cleaned and sealed, put a new fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator on, new plugs, wi…

Hi. Just pulled my newly purchased '72 in my car port today. Its still got the factory lime green paint on it, and is in pretty fair, all original shape. I guess its some kind of disease. I have previously owned two other 240's: '73 modified with webers, a hot cam, flares and the air dam. '72 all original Anyway, I look forward to chit chatting with a few of you about my passion. DT
