Hey everyone, I hope all's well with you and your families! My name is Michael from Houston, TX. I've been a member for almost a year now (hard to believe!) and so it's well past time to introduce myself. I first fell in love with the Z car back in 1978 when a drummer I was working with in the U.K. used to take me for rides in his 240z. When he let me get behind the (right-hand) wheel, that was it. A few years later in 1982 I purchased a burgundy 1978 280z 2+2 with a 4-speed transmission. I was partial to the coupe model but liked having the back seat and extra room for my guitars, etc. That was followed by a blue 1978 280z 4-speed coupe which I loved. I later sw…

Hi everyone. I just signed up today and wanted to drop in and say hello. I have a 73 240 that I bought from the west coast and am in the process of getting it street worthy. The car only had 82,000 original miles when I got it, but had been sitting for about 20 yrs. without being cranked or moved. It belonged to a man that retired from a company and that was his retirement gift. He must have been a CEO or something. Anyway he drove it daily until his death. His wife said it was parked in their garage and she never moved it after his death. I found it by accident when a friend of mine told me about it and said he was friends with the lady. He knew I was looking fo…

Hey all, New to posting on the site but love all the help and advice of the community. I am new to CA originally from Australia and picked up one of my dream cars a nice 1971 Series 1 240z. I am looking to meet up with Z car owners in the south SF bay area? There must be a few of us out there as there are several good Z shops. Is there a group in the area that meets regularly? Cheers JC

Here are some pics of my car after I finally got it off the jackstands and back on the road. While I had it down doing the brake work, I went ahead and shot another coat of pearl orange and cleared it. I also painted the wheels with dupli-color smoke gray metallic wheel paint.

Hey everyone, new to the forums and I can't wait to start hearing from you guys! I just picked up an absolute gem a couple weeks back, one of the cars that's always been on my classic car list (I know most of you guys have a list!). It's a 1971 240Z, 4-speed manual, completely original, and 99% rust free! It has new-ish paint that needs to be buffed, a brand new interior, and the mechanicals are in good condition. The previous and only owner put 156,000 miles! Needless to say, I'm stunned by the car My projects so far are to work on restoring the wood trim on the interior (steering wheel and shifter knob), getting the carbs adjusted, and finding out what fluids to use t…
