Hey everyone! My name is Liz and I recently bought a 260z [i don't know how many previous owners]. Truthfully, I was aiming for one that was 1975 or older just so I wouldn't have to do smog. haha.. Anyways, I'm 17 right now and without a job, but trying to get one which means that rebuilding this car will take a long time, at least compared to an older person already with a steady income. Here are a few pictures: a few rust areas, here's the biggest one on the roof.. the penny is there to show the thickness of the chunk a friend of mine broke off the day i got it. - oh and, i'm planning on getting a new hood anyways so the rust on it doesn't bug me As of right…

The Air Force has my wife and I stationed out here in Florida, 1500 miles away from our real home in Texas. I am glad to find an active Z community out there. I searched around the internet and found several forums with the latest comments made over a year ago! I've been interested in the early Z-cars off and on since I was very young, but never bought one. Now I'm finishing up a boat rebuild that I started this spring in hopes of selling it with a decent profit in early 2009. Once I grab that little chunk of change I really want to start into a 280z project that I can keep over the long term. Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning all I can about these cars before I div…

Hi all! Just checking back in after a bit of an absence... I used to be a regular poster on this site about 5 years ago when I worked a lot of night shift but as my jobs changed I wasn't able to post nearly as much! I've noticed a few familiar people still around the traps while I've been reading the site over the years and now finally I'm in a position to no only post again but start my Zed project! I'm building up a 1973 240Z that has been sitting in my shed for the full 5 years, and I'm now thinking that a Wangan Midnight replica would be good fun I've seen a few in the gallery and I'm getting keen to get started. Someone is going to have to tell me how the 'Devi…

Hey All. Last year I was aka STAYZ75Z. Now I am GirlyGirl1Z. The year before last I owned 4 Z cars with my husband- MC75Z. '73 240 Z, '74 260 Z, '75 280 Z and a '77 280 Z. I told all of you a story that I really couldn't believe was real but it was because it was happening to me. The year 2007 was the worst year of my entire life and will forever be in my head and heart. It was the year I lost my best friend, husband and "my fairytale life" as I believed I had. I am not saying I was a prissy princess sitting around eating bon-bons all day but what I am saying is that I was living the life I had always dreamed about having when I was a little girl. This man in a stunning …

Hello folks, this is actually my second posting to the Forum, I joined yesterday. I bought a '70 240Z about two years ago and have been working to bring it up to daily driver status. I bought it from a gal in Arizona who was less than honest about the condition, it was not 95% restored. I figured there were electrical problems when I found the fire extingusher under the passenger seat and then realized the brake lights did not work as well as the blinkers and the front parking lights. I have sinced: Rewired most everything under the dash, Adjusted the valves and timing chain, Had Ztheraphy rebuild the carbs, Installed Ztheraphy balance tube. New starter, New radiator, …

Due to the recent death of my father in law, I have been asked to value his 1983 280ZX. My mother in law would like for me to keep the car, and I do have interest in keeping it in the family, for selfish (I have always wanted a Z) and sentimental reasons. I would, of course, like to pay my mother in law a fair value for the car, if I decide to keep it, or have a rough idea what to ask for it if I sell it. I know that "value" is in the mind of a prospective buyer, but I need a starting point. I am struggling, to say the least, as to how to value it though. It is a 1983 280ZX 2 + 2, non Turbo. It has no dents, has been professionally repainted (although, not the origi…

Just sayin Hi! I never owned a Z but have always liked the look of the old z cars. I recently picked up a used 77 280z 2+2 for $600. It needs paint and interior help, but the body is straight with mimimal rust and the engine runs strong. I want to fix it up with original parts. The owner did some modifications. The distributor and rotor are from 79-83ZX (he says it improves fuel and HP). I also noticed the steering wheel looks like it's from a ZX. I'm guessing alot of parts are interchangable with early ZX's. I want to replace it with an original Z steering wheel. Are these easy to replace? and is the ignition different. Look forward to talking with the Z exp…

After searching for a long time, I ended up finding a '72 240Z that was mostly rust free and incredibly cheap that had been sitting for a long time. I picked the car up last weekend and I'm looking forward to trying to get it running this weekend. I'm no stranger to cars in general, I bought an RX-7 when I was 14 and had been building that up into quite the machine up until last June when I unfortuately flipped the car into a ditch. I'm going to fix it when I get out of college but for now I decided to pursue one of my other loves, Z cars. Unfortunately I am not nearly as well versed (yet) in these cars as I was in RX-7s so I will be asking questions on here quite a bi…
