Hi, just signed up and looks like I've found the site I've been looking for all along. I dont have a Z "yet", and I stress "yet". My dream project car is a 70' 240Z and I want to keep it as close to stock as I can, while also trying to make it showroom/car show worthy. My vision is silver with black interior, minor audio system upgrade, slot wheels and a little bit of lowering in the back to give it the aggressive stance. My buddy in highschool had a 75' 280 and ever since that car I've had a fascination with Z's. He's on board with this dream project and I've got full support from the wife. What is a realistic budget for building a car like that....... $10-$13…

Got this home the other night and just got around to washing off 30 some years of dust and try to get some photos for everyone. All of the tags do say it IS HLS30-00110 with a build date of 12-69. The engine now is L26-56324, but originaly had L24-2796. Carbs are round top 4 screw and the balance tube is before emissions. Paperwork says he bought the block and head but swapped over all the other stuff. Hasn't ran in years and may need some electrical work checked over before trying to crank. Number 1 spark plug wire is not in the right position on the dizzy. Interior has been sprayed black, originaly blue. I can see blue on the headliner when I pulled it back to s…

Hi guys. It is great to be part of this forum. I just turned 65 and have been a car lover all my life, much to the disapointment of my wife. She has put up with all the money I have spent in my passion for cars. I always wanted a 240Z but never found what I was looking for. I am not mechanical and I needed to find one that had just been restored to a high level. After looking for a while I found the car about a month ago. It is a fully restored 1970 240Z. It is silver with black interior. I should get it this month. It is being finished in California and should be shipped about the middle of the month. I have always loved fast cars and today one of my cars is a…

I found an old family album with pics of the Zs I grew up with... My dad owned all these in the 70s/80s, decided they would almost be an interesting thing to make a thread about. Among my dad's first, (and apparently smog is not a new occurrence in San Bernardino)... 71 240 with mis-sized slot mags that would rub if he took a dip or turned hard enough, but damn do they look good... Can't tell if the hood is a bit wonky or if it's an illusion, but I think this one's the coolest From there to Hawaii, this one had oxidized paint so he had it redone in boring metallic blue (the same shade that my mom made him paint our flamed 59 El Camino after she was sick of being emb…

hello, I just got a 280z for three hundred bucks, not running some rust through on the rear quarter panels, rockers and front fenders (no rust on the floor and rusty hatch. wiring is an absolute mess, brake lines need flushing and maybe a master cylinder rebuild. anyhow the previous owner said there was a short to the fuel pump, located the fuel pump test the wires and they were fine, pulled the pump tested it and it was dead. installed new fuel pump and bingo! started right up! sounded pretty good for not running for over a year.

Hello Z fans, I'm new to CZC, I ran across your site last night while looking for a 260. You people have some beautifully restored cars. Now I'm more inspiered than ever to find one for myself. My brother had an orange 240, (a 72 I think), back in 1975. It unfortunately it was totaled late one night while trying to avoid a deer. (no one was hurt) If any of you know of any leads on a 260Z I sure would like to hear about it. I want a car that has had the 350 conversion or one that I can convert. Thanks, Great Site! Mike

Hello to the list. My name is Carig Sparkes and I own Scarab # 155. I've been following the list for some time now and decided to formally introduce myself to everyone. My real passion is documenting and registering authentic factory built Scarab Z's. I found mine in 1996 and been searching for and looking at cars ever since. My good friend David Sommers (nwa240z) has been posting on my behalf recently but I wanted to join the list. If you think you may have a factory built Scarab (not a conversion kit car) please contact me. I really want to know you and your car. To those who have parts, please do let me know. I'm always looking for real Scarab parts. BTW: Scarab # 155…

Hello all. Just aquired a 74 260 have been reading thru diffrent sites about them and thought that I would join this site (lots of info). The car is pretty original, flat top carbs, smog pump and all. What I can say about it that from what I have read it has the typical problems, it needs floors and an interior. I brought it home fri total cost 185.00. 100 for the car and 85 for the flat bed. I tore everything off the floor and found several holes. Today I drained out the 13 gallons of gas the previous owner had sitting in it for 4 years and had a question about that. Should I go ahead and buy a new fuel pump and put in it or just put some fresh gas in it and see what hap…

For the last 21/2 years I've been building a Hot Rod 240Z for a customer who had the desire and funds to build the car of his dreams and between his ideas, and money and my 45 years experience in the custom car industry, he and I both think that this is one of the "BADDEST" 240Z's in the country. It uses an Art Morrison 4 link back half, completely reinforced body, 6 point cage and a motor plate mounted 4-71 Supercharged 350 Chevy, Turbo-350, custom fenderwell headers and a throttle pedal that goes to "WIDE OPEN" When I was a kid in California they called this thing an "E-Ticket Ride" Now days we just call it "FUN PER GALLON" Pictures will be posted soon, in the mean t…
