new to this forum. i just got my Z and just doing a basic restore to get it up and running for daily driver status. this is my first z and first car with more than 4cyl. i really wanted an earlier model but this one seem to be the right price still has potential. The inside not that great. think im going to take out dash and re vinyl it. need to knock out the insulation and some floor board rust. the previous owner let the battery leak all over and the acid rotted everything out in that general area thats the only bad rust area. just gonna clean it up and put some fiberglass on it. or maybe weld some metal. Hi,I own a 72 240z.Orange.The cars been garaged its whole life. this is my second 240z. I also had a280zx.Iam trying to find an outlet for stock springs for my new struts.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Steve

So I came across this project car and have already sunk some serious funds into making it a DD for myself in the near future. The car is titled in GA already but is labeled a 4cyl, 4dr. model car somehow. Whatever. It has the L28 with F54 and P79 head. Body is 99% rust free. 4spd. 14" SSR MKII wheels! SICK! and other things I cant remember. Has a plaque above the shifter saying Special Edition - "Import Car of the Year". I think its a 1979 280z from either Japan or NZ. The head visors are in jap along with all the stickers under the hood and the metal badge under the hood. Its stamped HGS130 006841 also. Its a 2+2. All red interior, two tone silver exterior. Hey Ya'll! I'm new to this site as you can tell. I am not new to Z cars though. I am a Z31 driver and have had 4 of them and one S130. I am also the Webmaster for my site XenonZcar.com. I am trying to get the most complete and accurate information in one easy to find location. Kinda like a Wiki but better. Currently the Z31 section is comming together very well with the support of many of that communitys Members. I am trying to do the same for all Generations. Hey out there, I'm a new zcar owner up here in niagara falls canada, totally green and looking for help. I just lucked out and found my new girl hiding in a backyard begging me to take her home, so I did. I've got a 74 260z with 18,000 original miles. She's all there including factory floor mats, rims, even the rubber is factory.She also has inline 6 motor and an automatic transmission and factory air. She is in great shape although she is sunfaded and the dash has 3 splits in it. Minimal rust around passsenger rear wheel and front fender just in front of pass door and the rocker under pass door. I am going to do a total reno on her and hope to have it done by end of this…

I got Bonzi on the road about 2 weeks ago, the day I was questioned by the Secret Service, but still have a few problems to figure out. Rear shocks have been ordered, after 35 years I think they should be changed, it seems to jump around when I hit a bump. Turn signals, horn and back up lights are not working, more digging there. The engine has lots of power, much more than I remember, but the carbs have been changed to round tops and they (dealership) put in a 'high performance' cam, #13001-N3626, makes a very nice tone out the 2 1/2 inch exhaust.
