My name is Dustin and I own a Datsun 260Z 1974 Built in August of 1973 and I had a Question About my car So I decided to join. It's pearl white, 4-speed manual, and the engine i am not so sure about. All I know as of now that the engine is a L28 block,(not what came with car of course) and it has a Clifford intake. It has a 650 Holley which i don't like. But i was wondering does switching it out for a edelbrock more reasonable because it seems to be running rich. Any help or critisism would be appreciated I would just like to know. Thank you all for your time.

Well, my first day on this forum, I bought a '78 280Z rolling body with transmission but no motor last month, now just to get it up from where it was and start restoring it. I'm still not sure what to put in it. L28s are as rare as hens teeth here. A Holden 253 is about the same weight with more power and more torque, and can mount a little further back. Sounds like lots of chev smallblock mounts out there which means it will be easy to plug in the 253 Another option is a SR20DET, which is shorter, far lighter, and produces more power than the L28 with less weight to shift with the power or maybe a worked RB30DET with RB26DETT head and a fast spooling turbo on h…

Hi everyone, ive been so happy and excited reading here plus getting some small funds to get my K back on the road. I believe it's a c110, 1973datsun 240K GL as the badge says. It's silver with white front end and in need of some paint and attention. Years ago myself and an X-gf did alot of stuff with this vehicle accept make it look good . upgrade fuel to injection off an r30 l24E i believe as well as full rebuild. Engine used to live in a gold 78 skyline c210 I believe and would race at simmons near Launceston. I am looking for a back seat [top section] in black and ideas that people have with the standard l24E injection for upgrades etc. btw yes I am legally blind and…

I've owned my current 1970 since 1979. I just can not part with it. I still drive it to work frequently. More frequently since gas prices went so high.

I was on my way to a car show last week and stopped to fill up with gas. I came back out to my car with an older guy walking around her. I greeted him and asked how he was. He immediately began to tell me his story. "Is this your car? Man, it's gorgeous. I remember when these first came out. I was 17 and I wanted one so bad. My neighbor had one and I went over there everyday to see it. I loved that car. I always wanted one but could never afford it." I could see the love and pain in his eyes. I said "be my guest if you want to sit in it." He answered, "Really?" He got inside and fell in love with it. I could have swore he was almost in tears. I could see all the years of …

Hi, I just joined the forum so I thought I’d introduce myself. I inherited an ’81 280ZX with 5 speed and T-tops. Mechanically the engine and drivetrain are in good shape, needs mostly just minor things like shocks, speedo cable, brakes, etc, etc. Interior’s a bit ratty, I’ve been ebaying a bunch of those items and cleaning up the hack work done by previous owners. Dash is full of electrical gremlins and half the instruments don’t work. When I got the car it had a short that drained the battery all the time so they had put in a battery disconnect and every time they got out of the car they disconnected the battery. Finally traced that to the hazard flashe…

I wish I could say this 78 280Z was mine, but I'm putting it together for my Sister-in-law. She has always wanted one and has been very good to our family. I am very much a car guy. I have numerous other kustom cars and projects in the works. This is were I found the Z in a Impound lot.

Hi Im 45 years old. I had a 70z restored, but got rid of it abut 8 years ago. Then I bought a 72z which has been pretty much sitting while I bought parts etc to restore. It needs rust work but the floors are good and rails not bad. we moved into a newer house a few years ago and I am putting up a garage. I bought a 6m sailboat last summer Ive always loved 240z's. ...and I bought a 71 TR6 a few weeks ago. I now have waaaay too much going on. I just spent the afternoon working on the z car carb. Will post carb questions later. The car actually has the original AM FM radio, and I started playing with the antenna switch and it actually works! Ha! Now I have to keep this car…
