I'm a relatively recent Z owner, but a long-time Z lover. I've wanted a Z ever since I helped my friend get his 260 2+2 running back in 1995, and finally made it happen in '05, when I bought an immaculate '92 300ZX TT. Funny thing happened, though in 2006. I got married, and we got knocked up. Both my wife and I are members of the local Z club, and we wanted to drive Z cars to the meetings/events, so we needed another. I started looking in earnest after my son was born in February of '07, and in May, I came across my new Z, a '71 240 (number 31917). We've named them big red and buttercup. Big red is your average "Stage III" 300ZX, meaning that it …

Hello, I've been a member for a while and have been looking for a decent 70-78 Z. I finally found one here in Texas. Its a 1975 280z /w 4spd repainted Candy Apple Red. Its in great shape, no rust, new interior and supposedly a pretty new engine. Everything works on it except the heater, which in Houston, i doubt it would ever be used. But the AC blows cold!! This will be my 3rd generation of Z cars that i've owned. I first had an 85 300zx turbo and then owned a 91 300zx TT. I love the Z's and since my brother has a 350Z I had to get an early model Z to finish things off. Here are a few pics. Let me know what you think. By the way I paid $3500 for it. Is that a good de…

Hi, this is my 71 240z purchased new by my Dad. He gave it to me in 1986 and I drove it for years. It then went into storage for about 13 years until recently. I got it running and am looking to do some restoration. It has a sunroof, so original is out, my goal is to have a nice looking Z that runs well. Thanks, Dave Boise, ID hls 30776

I'm a new member, from Fontana CA, i own a white 1970 240Z and my Dad owns the blue 1970 240Z that's in my avatar. I'm only nineteen, but this car is the greatest! I fell in love with my Z the moment i put my foot on the gas pedal! Unfortunately my Dad's Z isn't running right now since he used the engine, the brake booster, the shocks, the carbs (Triple Webers), the brakes, and countless other items to help rebuild mine into running order. But him and i are working on it and hopefully by next year we can both enter our cars in the Z show out here!!!

Hello, Another former lurker who just picked up a 2nd project Z (1st one has been complete for over 10 years, and the new project was obtained for free) Anyway, I am attaching pic's of the new project, with pic's of the finished one coming a little later down the road (only pics of that car are from when it was complete, and we only had film back then). Anyway, I am sure I will have something to contribute and many questions.. Greetings to all from Central CA

Hello from NYC. I'm currently looking for my Z. I grew up in a white '82 280ZX 2+2, but my fantasy has always been the 240. I've been completely car-less for the last 8 years or so. There just isn't much need for one in the city. Of course, practical need has nothing to do with what I'm looking for now. Primal need is a better way to describe it. This forum has been a great source for me to learn and get up to speed, not only in enhancing my Z education, but helping me form an idea of what kind of Z owner I intend to be, if that makes any sense. At any rate, I'm looking forward to joining the ranks. In the mean time, I don't have to lurk around on the perifery like…

Hello All, I eventually knew that my path of owning, restoring, and modifying classic cars would eventually lead to the ownership of a foreign car. I'll admit that my first step into the foreign world was with a 1967 Volvo 1800S-but that didn't end very well. I have always liked the look of the early Z cars, and I know that Datsun put some awesome engineering into their cars. I just finalized the purchase of a 1972 240Z which is still wearing its birthday suite of Orange. The car was purchased from the second owner and is 99.8% rust-free! It has its usual parking lot dings and the right side has a shallow but decent size crease-dent that runs down from the back of the fr…

Hi All, A little intro.... I bought my Z in 1990. It's the first car I ever owned. She's an orange 72, with triple Weber 40's, 6-1 MSA header, 2.5" exhaust, Toyota front calipers, MSA swaybars, ZX 5 speed, 4.11 R180 (from a 200SX), 15X7 "Golden Wheel Corp" mags (which I bought on ebay years ago). She's not toooo rusty. Summer only since 1990, and before that the car lived in Tampa. I haven't really driven her much in the last couple of years. That's because I got into old 5 cylinder Audi Quattros too. But this year I promised myself I'd get her running like a top. I have an F54 block and a ported E88 head with big valves nicely wrapped waiting to transplant in whenever I…

Hello! I'm interested in buying an S30 Z-car and came across this site. I've lurked here for a while, and decided to finally register. I've never owned a Z, but I am a big Nissan fan...currently have a G35 coupe as my daily driver, and just sold my project 240SX. I've done a lot of research on the old Z cars and know what to look for when buying, but I do have some questions concerning a particular 280Z that I'm looking at...should I make a new thread? (I hate making new threads on an old subject, but I'm terrible at using the search function, especially since I have specific questions, mostly concerning price.) For now I will post it here... http://denver.craigslis…
