I finally have the time and the funds to fix her up. It's a yellow 1971 240Z that's mostly stock with the exception of the suspension. I've had the pleasure of driving three 280Z's before the 240Z crossed my path. The 1st one was totaled when my Dad was driving it then. I sold the 2nd one to my Uncle, which is currently being restored. I still have the 3rd one but it will be up for sale soon. I purchased the 240Z from my parts guy for $2,500 about 2 years ago. The condition was great until my brother hit a guard-rail on the freeway. It damaged the front passenger fender and scratched the whole passenger side. It also bent the front passenger strut housing. Lucki…

Hey, I'm Kevin from Winnipeg, Canada. I bought my 73 240 about 3 months ago and have been working on it off and on since then. My spare time in between has been used sifting threw all the info on this forum so I figured I'd contribute something for you to look at. I'm sure that after you see my pics you will go out and give your Z a big hug and kiss, be fortunate you can, I'd need a tetanus shot. :stupid:

HI, I just got a 280zx handed down to me from my uncle. The car has 209000 miles on it but still runs like a champ. I always wanted a car where i can fix up and make into a classic. I dont know if this is much to get the car how i want it to be but maybe a start. I want to spend $4000 dollars on the car to fix it up make it new again. A new paint job for sure either (red or blue) exhaust, headers and if intake. but other then that dont know if that will run me more then 4000 or if i will have left overs for the interior. any ideas u guys have in what i should do with 4000 grand to fix this car up. thanks for reading

Hey guys (and gals) the name's Luke. People call me Pez or Pezzy, (off my last name, Pezanoski), or Stryker (my CB handle). Or Luke gets my attention too . So I am currently (as of 2/2/08) Z-car-less. :-( but am looking to buy one as soon as i sell my other car. My first car was a tangerine orange '71 240Z, fairly stock, that got totaled when it fell off a tow truck. I have gone through several cars since then but never gave up on owning another Z. So, let the noob bashing begin (dont lie, all forums do it)

Hi everyone, I'm Jon from McPherson, KS. See Chad from McPherson just joined today too. I have 2 Z cars. A 1975 2+2 with 84K miles, purchased new by my Father at Bob Bottomley Datsun in Hutchinson, KS and a 1984 300ZX 2+2 with 52K miles purchased by me new at Davis-Moore Nissan in Wichita, KS. My 1975 is in pretty good shape but needs some TLC and among other things a new rear bumper. Would also like to find a factory parts book for the 75, any ideas? Looking forward to learning from the group.

Hello to all. I'm new to the group and an owner of a 73 240Z, which I started restoring 4 months ago. Working on the mechanicals first then onto the body. Mechanically, redone just about everything under the hood above the block. Currently, about to put a relined gas tank in then I should be able to drive it and find out if there are other issues. I look forward to getting know folks and learn from the forums. So far during this restoration I generated more questions than answers so I'm hoping to find others who can point me in the right direction. This looks like the perfect group. Steve

I just bought my bro's car that he sold to me... it's a 1972 datsun 240z. L28 motor with triple makunis/ITB's/webbers or whatever you want to call it.. holly fuel pump, msd ignition, and custom widebody on champagne gold... he gave me a good deal so planning to sell my ef because catches too much attention... i was working on one of the carb today because it was jammed but got it fixed. it might need rebuilding i'm not sure... it has been sitting since 03 so i just got it started today but it's been backfiring, might be one of the carbs or timing... the jets on one of the carbs might be bad or something.. my plan on this is prolly to either use the same motor…
