I would like to welcome myself to this site as I have just acquired my dad's old '73 240Z HLS30 139584. He passed away last year and I finally got a chance to tow it from Va Beach up here to Richmond, Va. It has been in the garage (driving my mom nuts) for 15+ years. Probably only driven 1000 miles in the 5-7 years before that. So needless to say it is in great shape. No rust at all...all original parts...no body damage...good bumpers etc. Only thing is that it has not been turned over in 15+ years so I have a little work to do just to get it running. Then gotta figure out what I want to do with it. So I will be here with lots of questions over the next couple of …

Hello, I'm Bart, 20 years old and i'm from the Netherlands. My occupation is a car mechanic and bikes also. I did alot whit cars at home, and was specialised in Vauxhall/Opel Nova/Corsa engine swaps and so on, i still do that today... I didn't know anything about Datsun or it's Z cars.. I saw a picture from my dad who told me he had a 240z in his early years. I thought wow, what a design! That brought me in to this cars... and the love for Datsun. After looking on the internet on further details of the models from Datsun... i knew for sure.. i wanted one!! So i looked good on the internet and found one not so far from home.. They are very hard and rare to find h…

I returned from the USAF in '86 and soon after bought my '73 240Z after reading a "Best 10 cars to own" article in a mag (Car & Driver or Road & Track). I was hooked after five minutes behind the wheel (oh, what a feeling-no wait, that was Toyota). Long story short- I still have my z, though I'm working on much needed work to body and soul, I am committed to returning to "active" z-driver status. Considering a conversion from '72 SU carbs to '78 FI. Any hints welcome. al

OK let me introduce my Z and my story... I have a 71 that I bought in 1976 or 77, not sure anymore. My Step-father had an early 70 and I loved it...so I sold my big-block 67 GT Mustang (BIG mistake...should have kept it no matter) and bought the Z. Drove the hell out of it. One early morning I was going on a camping trip and had the Z loaded with the camping gear with a canoe on top. All the weight caused the 60 series tires to rub on the inner fender lip, so at 4 am, I am using vice grips and a hammer to “flareâ€ the rear fenders so we can head out. Months later an idiot backs into me (Bigger idiot took off the front bumper) and I take the insurance money and b…
