Hello all, Im a recent purchaser of one of these precious beautys, of course mine isnt a classic for another month :-p Saturday I picked up a fairly beat up old 1983 Datsun 280ZX non turbo. Came with the paperwork for $250 but doesnt exactly want to run. Something is very wrong in the fuel delivery. it starts, runs for a few seconds and stalls, fuel pump runs a few seconds and it will start again, if you try to touch the throttle it will immediatly die, changed the fuel filter already and that wasnt the problem. Im thinking Im going to buy an intake and carbs from a 240 and eliminate the fuel injection and computers out of the picture, eventualy Im going to do a V8 swap w…

I've not had my 240Z for some time, although have recently started looking for another. I'm currently driving a mint Z32 TT manual 2+2, RHD JDM. (NZ is a RHD country, so all's good) Expect some questions and whoring when I get close to owning the S30 again!

Hey all, A quick hello from Boulder, CO! Through a series of horse trades that involved motorcycles and Mustangs, I'm now in possession of a slick new '71 240Z. Most systems in the car have been freshened up and it's really got a great presentation inside and out. Drives like a myotis-from-Hades. I agreed to this particular trade because I thought the Z would bring a higher resale than an old Mustang GT (the Z-owner called this his $12,000 $6000 car). I'd never given much thought to a Z before: mostly a pre-'65 Volvo guy. But something happened to me when I slipped behind the wheel of this car: something subtle yet exhilarating, like your second or third kiss on a …

I was driving down the road the other day and a shiny silver/white 1975 4 speed 280z caught my eye and ever since I've been aving up for it. Its condition is remarkable yet it still needs alot of work and I have no idea where to begin. I talked ot car down to 1800 and it does have some black smoke propelling form the exhaust. As a first timer I would really appreciate where to begin on this car. My goals are to make this car into a street legal 200 MPH 5 speed or 4 speed if possible to drift a 4-speed. I found many sites that have great prices from engine parts to exterior and interior. Any other websites would be very welcome. I'm taking this project very seriously and I…

Hey everyone, So I am excited to announce that my friend and I are starting a little project together, and i think it has some potential. We just bought a 1974 260 with a 5 speed. (pictures below) From what we know the engine and transmission are both strong, but it has a hard time running right now due to the worn out Hitachi carb setup. Not to worry though, because we purchased a triple weber 40mm DCOE setup with intake that was taken off of a wrecked 240. The guy we bought it from threw in a header as well. So here is our plan, and i would like to know what you guys think. I am new to the world of Zs and am frantically trying to learn as much as possible. We dec…

Hello, I am Jeff Mader. I own 2 Z's - 1980 280ZX (white 30K miles) and a 1981 280ZX Turbo (silver 67K miles). The 1981 is currently up for sale (posted on this website). I have been a Z owner since the 1980's. I live in Sudbury, MA. Question - I think I'm getting scamed. Someone has responded to my classified (jm.crabown@yahoo.ca) and he claims he wants to buy it but it doesn't seem real. Does this happen a lot on this site??

Hello, So I've been a member for a few weeks now, but have just finally gotten some pictures up so it's time to introduce myself. And my new lady. I've got a British Racing Green 1970 240z manufactured in February of '70. She's got 64k original miles on her and has been mine now for 2 months. I sold my first vehicle (a great '87 Toyota 4x4 Xtra cab SR5 that was lifted with off-road lights and tires) because I was looking for something more fun to drive. It had to be a RWD, preferably light, and with only 2 seats. After settling on an early 2nd gen MR2 (that sold from under me), I contemplated a Miata for awhile, but at 6'3 I found it wasn't right for me. I'd always loved …

Well I'm finally getting around to cleaning the engine bay of my car since I bought it (over a year ago) so I figured I'd throw up a few pictures. I know, it needs a wash, wax, and quite a bit of polishing here and there but there's only so many hours in the day (most of which are accounted for with school). Here she is in her present condition: And a shot of the left side: Right side (not as interesting, I know): From the top looking down, left side: And lastly, the interior (Not as clean as it has been, but not as dirty either): It's a work in progress and I absolutely love it. Just put brand new pads, rotors, s…

The Story I bought it one mile from where my parents live, when I was 17. I bought it from the original owner's best friend. He was getting rid of some of the cars to buy a vacation home in the Caribbean. Among his collection was a 996 GT2 that he would regularly drive. The car had 70k some original miles on it. It was a L24 (2.4 inline six) with a four speed transmission. It had all sorts of crazy built in late 70's radar detectors, with detectors in both front and rear. It came with an extra wheel and literally every single receipt, note, service, window sticker, etc. He had already disconnected all the emissions stuff (airpump) and had switched the shitty emissions c…
