Well I figured I might as well stop trolling since I just purchased my 2nd 73 240z. The first one is an all original silver 240 from 1973 with 68k miles on it in pretty much pristine original condition and one family owned. I am a little loath to drive this one as wishfull thinking it might be worth money to fully restore it back to showroom quality. (I know it is a stretch for a 1973...) The new baby is a 7/73 240 that i will be picking up tommorrow. It has a l28 engine with e31 head, and I will be building it out for a weekend track car and maybe light autocrossing. The body is actually rust free with the exception of the passenger door panel has some surface rust t…

Greetings all: I've been reading the postings regarding right rear noises/problems but none seam to describe mine. I have a 73 240z with 93k miles on it, the car is mostly original with the exeption of the weber carbs and hooker headers. My problem is that when under med/heavy breaking the right rear susoension seams to be hopping producing a thumping sound. I had a broken right rear axel stub replaced 500 miles ago but the problem continues. My mechnic has offered a few sugestions but is not sure. The thumping olso occures when accelerating, to a lesser degree and there is a jump to the right on rough road conditions. Would a deteriated trans link bushing cause this? Or…

Well I guess I should introduce myself here since I've already posted asking for help from the club in the Help Me! section. My name is Jason, I purchased a 1976 280Z in Dec of 2006 from Florida and drove it home to Ontario Canada the following day (2200km drive non-stop!) The car did the drive flawlessly for her age and got me decent milage on the way 23mpg at 70mph all the way. Details of the car itself can be found on my cardomain page located here at my Datsun page. Basically it was bought as a 95% restored car that needed only mirror touches to finish it off which I am working on slowly. It has been dyno'd at 162.0 RWHP and 162.0 lb/ft torque and tracked at 15.…

I am the original owner of a 240Z (serial number 415 manufactured in 1969). I purchase the car in 1970 and have maintained it in pristine condition since then -- it only has 75,000 miles. However,... I recently had a house fire in which almost all the contents of the house were destroyed. Two new cars were totally and the Z inccured serious heat and smoke damage. My insurance company has been cooperative but has been unable to find comps for similar vintage Z's. Does anyone have a suggestion where to look? Thank you.
