So, I was just painting some parts high gloss black, when the plastic hanging for our homeade booth decides its going to stick its self to the WET BUMPER! AFIHALFKHL:KH!~!!! I have to wait to see how it dries and to see if I'll have to sand it back down or if I can just color sand it...This is the second time repainting the parts because they dripped in two places the first time...I can't wait for it to be done.

Hi all, I just joined after browsing the threads. I am looking to pick up my first Z and have a question. I found a 1970 240Z RHD, that has been sitting in a garage for about 16 years. I forgot to check the milage when I looked at it, but otherwise everything seemed to be there. The doors shut beautifully which tells me it has not been to abused. My question is, is a RHD 240 Z worth picking up. I have not been able to find to much info on this model. I don't want it as a collector, more as something just fun to drive around. My speculation with this car is all it would need would be a battery, fluids, and a tune up. Also any links or info about this model would b…

Hello Everybody! I'm a new member to this forum. I stumbled upon it while looking for information about Rust Bullet and Picklex, and it looks like I've found a gold mine of information on old Z cars. I am working on getting a 1973 Datsun 240Z back to running order. When I bought the car, the frame rails and floor pans were rusted out. I ordered some Zeddfindings floor pans and Baddog frame rails. The most recent development is that I removed the engine and transmission from the car, and am now ready to send the car in to get the pans and rails welded in. I am looking for a good shop that can do the welding work in the San Jose, CA area, so any recommendations would be gre…

I got my 2nd 240Z (the 1st was in the '70's) last year. It is one of those factory authorized restoration cars (Z-Car). It had a stereo radio in it that I have pulled out and am trying to install an original Hitachi am/fm radio. I have gotten past the huge problem of removing the Heater Controls and Faceplate and finding the proper wires/connections to power the old style radio (the stereo people did a number on the wires). I also believe I have to replace the "automatic" antenna with an old style manual one. Now my latest problem is that the radio has brackets on both sides but behind the '71 dash there are no corresponding side supports/brackets/hangers to attach them …

It's been 17 years since I watched my last 240 get carted away on a flatbed, engine still strong after 176k mi but rust everywhere. Here is the northeast you have that problem especially when it has to be an everyday car. But now I've been fortunate to get another '72 240Z that I've dreamed about for many years. Got it off the internet, which in itself, was a challenge and stressful. Bought it with only seeing it in pictures and conversations with the owner. Everyone thought I was taking a big risk with not seeing it first but it was over 650 miles away.. Frankly, I was beginning to believe they were right until the carrier came and when I saw it, I knew my luck had c…

New to the forum. We are members of the ZCar Club of Ohio and joined the club several years ago. Love going to car shows and meeting all the Zcar people. I own a 1979ZX, original ower, 32K miles. I'm cleaning up the engine area and need to find somewhere to get the labels/decals? for the air flow meter housing. Any suggestions? We are Zcar lovers. Also, have a 1990, 300ZX twin turbo, that's his. Thanks, M

Without pictures I wouldn't believe this story myself. I bought 2 280Z 5 speed transmissions from a guy in a small central GA town for a song. When I went to pick them up he told me about a 71Z sitting in the yard of an abandoned house.I asked him about looking at it he hesitated and said it was behind a fence and we couldn't see it. After I assured him all I needed to know was where it was we WOULD be able to see it he took me to the house. On the way he told me the man that owned the house use to sell old surplus army jeeps still in the crates and still had some there.I remember the ads in the back of old magazines that said they had surplus jeeps for 500 dollars since …

Hi I bought my first Z in high school (1989) for $1500. 78 model, 5 speed. It was awesome!!! I wrecked it in my neighborhood going 30mph. I leaned over to get something from the passenger floorboard and drifted into a telephone pole. I bought my second Z while stationed at Lowry AFB in Denver. It was a 77 model with a 5 speed. It got totaled when I was going through an intersection. Couple of high school kids joyriding in mom and dads SUV ran a red light. Fast foward 16 years and I'm married with 4 kids. 3 boys and a girl. I'm getting the bug again to buy another Z and love on it. I have always been partial to the 77-78 models but am very intrigued by the early carbuer…
