Hi to all fellow Z fans. I am a 50 year old dude who owned a 1972 240 Z twenty years ago and had to sell it when the kids came along. My wife and I talked about getting another one ever since. Now that the kids are on their own we have purchased not one, but two Z's this year. Hers a 2005 350Z and mine a 1970 240 autocrosser. Both are a blast and I am looking forward to gaining insight and information from this forum. Located in San Diego. I will try and post a picture of the "real Z" in the family! Where's one of my kids when I need them. Steve

Hay to all! I am just getting in to the Z way of living. I do not own yet, but have lined up an early 240Z with a Bob Sharp body kit on it. I intend to put a SBC 283 in it. I have a lot to learn about this car and the swap but that is what I’m here for. So let the games begin!

Alright, probaly gonna be a little bit more of a "lurker" than a poster, cause if you don't have anything important to say... The fact of the matter is I feel a wee bit more knowledgable 'bout 510's and four cylinders, but I inherited my good pal Dave's 240Z to compliment my 350Z as he is leaving soon to finish school! I admire that so much, and this is a favor to him as much as it is to me, as he can now focus on his studies, and not let the Mikuni's distract him! I am a Digital Modeler, and have worked for Volvo's design studio in Camarillo, Nissan's in La Jolla, Volkswagen in Simi Valley, and now am staff @ Honda's R&D studio in Torrance. Thanks for having me! j!…

I'm a newbie here. I've driven nothing but Datsun/Nissans for over 15+ years. Currently own a 73 240Z, 76 280Z, 78 280Z (for parts), 88 300ZX, (trying to also get an 86 300ZX Turbo; let ya know how it goes), an 86 kingcab 4x that a feller built before me to Pre-run with, and a 02 kingcab 4x Frontier. I've always loved the Z's, and came up with these for a good price. Still, I'm gonna be asking alot of questions. Hope ya don't mind. Thanks.

Just bought a 2/70 Z on EBay... the only catch is its for pickup only. I'm in Phoenix - the car is in St Louis. Looks like a road trip! Good thing I have a tow dolly. Bummer is the guy will not be there this weekend, so I have to go next (Superbowl weekend!). I don't want to put it off another week. Its a fixer upper but original. mapquest says its about 1500 miles... that will be a hardcore drive. lotsa caffeine i'm thinkin...

Hello all on Classic Zcar I have been workin with Zs for a few years. I have a 76 280z and a 90 300zx. You will have to excuse me because I am still getting used to this forum layout. I come to this forum in request for help. I have browsed the search funtion for help but i have not found to much to my liking. My 280 ran solid for about a month after the rebuild and gas tank replacement. The injectors were also replaced early on. One day it started to run a little rich. It ran fine just a little rich. Over the next few days it got very bad. I drove it to school and it stopped idling. I sat in traffic holding the gas so it would idle. It was towed home that e…

I own ' 71 240Z with the needle and seat ( no Grose jets ) in the float bowl, and I'm trying to determine if the level of gas in the float bowl is adequate. I took the float bowl lid off and grabbed my calipers and measured down from the top of the float bowl 38 mm before I hit any gas, is this to low ? Maybe a better question would be, when the floats are set correctly, where does the level of gas in the nozzle suppose to be ? I read the article by Roger Garnett from ZHome.com and he says the level of gas should sit right below the nozzle. Is he correct ? I pulled my suction piston and looked down the nozzle and it's empty. The car starts and idles well, but power is …
