I just picked up a 260Z from a coworker. I haven't had a good chance to go through the car yet and see what the trouble spots are. 12 hour shifts at work are killing me. I know that it was run with little to no oil and developed a knock in the motor. I'm hoping a simple rebuild will get that taken care of, but I'm pretty sure I'll end up calling the machine shop for some major work. My engine stand is currently occupied so I won't get any updates on that for a few weeks. I believe the clutch was also slipping when it was parked last year. It has the MSA Aero Kit and it looks like it was being molded into the body, but it's incomplete. There is very little visable rust on …

Hi all from DFW TX, just picked up a clean 82 280ZX with 126K, I could not get it to pass inspection too high of HC & CO. How here the deal pull all the plugs and only 2 was carboned filled, so I put new plugs & wires. It runs fine ( I think ) smooth and it don't smoke, could it be 2 injectors that is not operating correctly. I am in the process of running a threated tank of injector cleaner thru it whis week, I say I think because this is my first Z and the horse power is a little different, all my past restorations are Pontiac GTO's, so does this now make me a Ricer.

Hello fellow club members. I'm the owner of a ' 71 240Z with what I believe is a choke problem, and could really use some help. One morning I got in the car, pulled the choke and fired it up. But I felt something was'nt right, so I got out my Uni-syn and checked the air flow into each carb. With the car idling at about 2000rpm, the rear carb air flow was good but the front carb was barely sucking any air at all. I've used the Uni-syn many times to set the air flow of the carbs when the engine was warm, but this is the first time I've used it with the chokes pulled. Why do I have so little air going into the front carb ? Thanks

:surprised I got this site from my new issue of Nissan Sport Magazine..I'm a few years behind the times with PC chit chat...but here it goes. I have owned my 74.5 260Z 2+2 since 1988. It has a long history of good and bad days...Long story short, the car has been completely restored and modified to make me happy. After some where around the $20K area, I decided that was enough for now. I entered the Z in a show @ POMOCO Nissan in Hampton VA in May this year and took first place in the Ultra Modified Class as well as a Dealer Choice Award for Best in Show. There were 52 other Z cars in attendance and several were of the 350 model. so I was a verry happy camper that day. I …

My wife and I, owns two 280ZX's. As Nissans Z-cars are very rare in Denmark, its difficult to find fellow Z-freaks to share your passion and problems with. I hope to make this possible through the Classic Zcar Club. Both our cars is to find on Cardomain, if anyone's interested.

Great Forum. You folks are a wealth of information. I spent the last several days reviewing Z-car sites and decided to join here. I am going to inspect a 1974 240Z tonight. It is a complete car, but it has been completely disassembled. The body has had all the rust cut out / removed and new panels welded in place. It appears to be in good shape. So after I've followed the advice you have given to others about where / how to check for rust, what else should I check for? Note: At this point, the vehicle is only $750 all in. Thanks.

Just had a 70 240 Z given to me by my father inlaw, he baught it new when he was stationed in okinawa where he was flying transport planes out of veitnam,he had it shipped home, it was his daily driver. It's in pretty good shape I think, been painted a couple of times never a rust problem he just wanted to change the color. The motor is all there and original, frame seames to be rust free, little rust on driver floor , interior has seen better days . thinking about doing a rebuild strip it down and put it back together replacing cosmetec and mecanical parts as needed, not a (as new )restore but a really clean good drivng car vin # is 5491 so I guess that makes it a fairly…
