Talk about bruised and battered!!! Had the Z out for a great 500 mile pre-Fall run this weekend and came back with a few crimps. Nothing major like a crash, but enough to make me smile as I effect the repairs. The laundry list: 1. new shifter pin bushings 2. temp sending unit blanks out. (thought I had discovered the secret to getting her to run cooler) 3. Threw off my wheel wieghts. Must have happened when I took that 500 series BMW to 120+mph. 4. Took some serious road spray to my newly restored grills. The good news... Had a blast whoopin the Beemer (no tickets) and with the new exhaust, it was a fumes-free trip. Luvin the end of the year runs..... Cat:beard:

I recently bought a 1973 240Z. The prior owner advertised the car as "no rust". Obviously he had not looked under the car in some time. The floor pans have been repaired before and need to be repaired again. I have found floor pan replacement kits on the internet. I'm looking for help in two areas. First, can anyone recommend, from prior experience, a floor pan replacement kit. Secondly, does anyone know of someone in the Kansas City area that install these kits. Thanks!

Just thought I'd introduce myself since there's a forum specifically for this. I've been active on ZDriver for a while now and post every now and then on HybridZ. I've been a member here since March, but just recently actually made a couple posts. Proud ex-owner of a 280zx Turbo and the happy new father of a 74 260Z.

Hello, this is my first posting after having been a member for quite a while. I can usually find what I'm looking for but will have to ask for help. I have a 1972 240Z that I picked up from the original owner in 1988. It was used as my daily driver for about 5 years and then parked. I spent the last year putting up a large garage to work in (25'x40'), which gives me room for all my tools and whatever car I am restoring at the time. So now that I finally have a place to work on the Z I started tearing it down. I have replaced the drivers floor and support and am working on replacing the quarter panel and rocker panel. My problem is that now that I am working on the rear to…

Recently an 82 280ZXT was given to me. The body and interior is rough, the rust has completly taken over and the wiring harness is hacked up! On a good note, it has a rebuilt motor, upgraded fuel system with a JWT ECU and it runs but not the best. I'll get some pictures of it up tomorrow as I need help with what is on this car. The owner passed away and I never met him so I'll have to figure out what's on this car with your help. Where to begin on making it run right is my main question for now. Ultimately my goal is to obtain a good bare shell (240/260/280???) and swap the complete drivetrain out of the 82. I want to build this into a weekend road course car. A little h…

I am an owner of a yellow 1977 280Z. I have been the proud owner since 1993. My husband recently passed away and he never got to see my Z fully restored. We were upgrading the speakers and some interior work when he passed. So it seems the interior is a mess, wires everywhere. He had made a nice list of the things he thought needed to be done before painting. Even though the Z is still considered a cherry overall, I have noticed more and more external rust and see some bubbling in one area. Can any of you recommend the best restoration process, or share restoration stories with me? If any of you can recommend someone in northern California to do the work, please , …

I thought that I had better say hi to everyone. I've been a member for a couple months now, sorry for not saying hello earlier (had computer problems). I've got a '77 280-Z that I'm in the process of doing a full restoration on (the car is in the metal work and paint phase currently). Im looking forward to talking with you all in the future. Hey ya'll, Just gonna get this introduction out of the way. My name is Mike and I am a Z-aholic. No, really, I am the proud new owner of a white 76 280Z 2+2. It's been in the family for over 25 years. For the past five it's been sitting in Houston TX, till I drove it to Glendale CA, my current residence, not more than a week ago. A little about myself... I'm 28, work as a photoshop specialist in Hollyweird, and produce fine art photography in my own time. I'm an avid outdoorsman, over 3.5 years living in a tent if I count all the trips back to back. I look forward to learning alot from everyone here. Mike Ewasko

I have a 1973 240z and I want to know if a 1978 280z head will fit. What I'm trying to do is get more horse power with the larger combustion chamber fron the 280z and not worry about using unleaded fuel in the 1973z which take leaded fuel, (the 280z doesn't). Also I want to get rid of the fuel injection system of the 280z and stay with carbs. Will the caburetored intake manifold from a 240z fit the 280z head? Has anyone done this swap?
