New to the forums and new to Z cars! I'm actually pretty new to the automotive industry and mechanics of cars in general but I'm learning as much as I can. Anyhow hey! Name is Kai, I live in Tucson, AZ, home of the scorching hot summer and plants with spines. Like I said I'm pretty new to the whole hobby along with this site but I'm going to be purchasing my first Z soon and I'm sure I'll be on here all the time. So if anyone has any tips, resources or sites to go for information on Z cars or automotive restoration, or anything else you think will be helpful I'm very open to it! Also if anyone here is a fellow Arizonan then I'd love to hear from ya and get some tips, plac…

Finally after 5 years of slowly increasing boost, tuning, and reconfiguring injectors and ignition systems, I hit the limit of the old power plant. It's a junkyard L28ET with over 160k miles on it, that has been running boost levels 10, 12, 15, and finally 18psi with a larger turbo. Yesterday the engine had enough and blew a head gasket. Here is the final run...and what a good run it was. She was pulling like a freight train at the track with the Porsche Club and the NYZCC. It was my first time in a solo class, mixed with instructors and top level club drivers. The NYZCC, and CTZCC had a bunch of Z cars there, all of which impressed the Porsche Club. We were happily…

Greetings. New member here. My name is Matt; I own a '72 240Z in need of a full restoration. My dad and I are Original Z Owner #129 here: http://www.zhome.com/IZCC/ZRegisters/original.htm He bought it new in '72 and gave me the keys as a college graduation gift (in '01). By that time I'd already learned to do a full tuneup including synchronizing and setting the (ZTherapy rebuilt) SUs. I watch their VHS tapes for entertainment; it's great stuff. I live in Winston-Salem, NC; the car is currently parked at my parents' house in Chapel Hill. My wife, two kids and I just recently bought our first house out here in W-S and it has a two-car basement garage, perfect for …

I recently bought a 1971 240Z off of craiglist for $400. It needs rockers, front floorboards and frame rails, but the rest of the car is solid and original. Most of all, the car is all there, down to the original spare tire still holding air. The original dash is even still intact and crack free.Minus the mentioned areas and the typical battery box area, its solid. I'll post pictures once I get a chance to take some, but my plans are for mild resto-mod: wheels, upgrade suspension and brakes, probably a modern V8 swap for reliability sake. I've heard Z owners have a very tight knit community that I hope to become a part of here. Wish me luck on my build, its going to be a …

Woe is me. I had two fold-up picnic tables come tumbling down from my rafters in my garage right on to the roof of my car. I heard a noise in the garage went out and almost puked. Luckily it is a dent and not a creased dent. I'll take her over to the dentmaster and see if he can straighten the panel. Now to research headliner removal.

Hi, my name is Marco and I just purchased a 1972 240Z. I've wanted an S30 for as long as I can remember and when I found this one for a deal, I couldn't resist buying it. This is a new experience for me since all I have worked on is fuel injected, late 80s to early 90s cars, but I don't plan on going too crazy with the S30 anyway. I plan on refreshing the old worn parts and getting it nice and drivable, then doing the body and paint and just keeping it around for nice weekends. The car is original as far as I know, and has less rust than I expected for the price I got it for. The L24 is still in there, and runs pretty well. The previous owner rebuilt it about 40k miles…

Hi everyone, Thank you for looking at this post. Well just a little background about the car...my dad and I we spot this 1st Series when we were working (remodeling the Z neighbor's house) we spot the car but didn't get a chance to take a closer look at the car, just before to complete the project we went over take a peek inside...what do you know(everything is still intact and everything looks original on the car) as we were looking the owner came back from work...we started talking for a while, he said he Wants the car to be Gone...Bingo!! but what do you know he isn't willing to let it go for cheap...at first he wants 2200 but after a long talk and pointed out all the…

I normally don't get too involved with forums, but the addition of a '75 Z to the stable required a more humble attitude (thanks, Arne), as the FI was shot (original setup, leaking injectors, bad thermo switch, unknown origin replacement air sensor, etc., etc., etc.), and after adding up the costs to repair the FI and then realizing that it probably wouldn't work with the new, tweaked engine without another huge infusion of funds, the decision was made to switch to carbs. Fortunately, I still have my complete, early '71 setup sitting in a plastic bag filled with Argon. So, a consultation with ZTherapy solved the anticipated fuel flow problem with the purchase of the prope…
