Just thought I'd say hello and hopefully I'll be posting a picture of a 280z soon as I have yet to own one, but that day maybe within a weak! It's a 75 with light to maybe moderate rust damage in the rear wheel wells, and the interior has some minor issues. They are asking $2500.00, I'm hoping to get it for $1700.00.

My 16 year old daughter just bought two Z's. The 79 to drive and the 83 for parts. I'm a restoration veteran but never on an older Datsun. It has set up for a couple of years but the previous owner was using it as a daily driver when he parked it. Other than getting some fresh fuel into it what should I look for to get it going?

Hi guys! Just buying a 260z this weekend from a buddy in CO and I like ot stay connected with other people who have the same cars as me. A little history: My first car was a 1999 Honda Accord which was given to me when I was 16. It was a great car and very reliable. Once in college, I wanted to get rid of it and buy something more functional, such as a truck since I am really into outdoors and horses. A buddy of mine ended up getting me into cars, and I went the other direction and bought a Camaro z28 instead. 0-60 in 5.7 seconds had me hooked on the speed. So now 6 months later I am adding to my obsession with cars and working on them and buying a 260z. Glad t…

Hi guys, New member to the site and unfortunately coming along with a problem! Just before Christmas 09, I managed to fulfill my dream of owning a Z car, a 1978 260Z 2+2 (UK spec). I drove it from the UK back to Ireland with absolutely no problems and everything was fine for a few months (apart from a battery drain problem and a 30 second long starting procedure!). Unfortunately the car has develped some problems which I need a bit of help on as I'm at the point of frustration! The engine is misfiring and I have a voltage regulator related battery drain! If anyone could help with these problems it would be greatly appreciated! http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread…

Well she still doesn't look like some of the restore projects I've seen on here, but she sure sounds and performs better. Changed the gasket and the valve cover gasket. With some sage advice from Dr. Steve at Steve's Motorsports, No real problems except for the heat sheild. Who put those bolts under there??!! Note the numbered tape, I call that my trail of crumbs.

Howdy GuyZ, I'm from germany and owner of a 1970 Datsun 240 Z. I imported this fine car from the US and restored it carefully in the past months. In August I joined the 40 anniversary Z convention in Nashville and was proud to meet this great and huge Z family. Glad to join the club, to read your posts, to marvel at your cars.

I want to upgrade my whole exhaust system. Who makes headers that fit znd work well. there is pacesetter, MSA, and others while reading threads it seems a lot of opinions. I've tried the MSA prduct and was not pleased. Stahls are about 1000 but seems a bit high for a street car. My engine has been gone thru and the head is a beauty from DL Potter. Any suggestions?

Hi all, I am a newbie and pretty new to the Z world also. I wanted out of the car payment game after about 20 years of it. I had about 3 grand to spend. Luckily before I bought the 99 corolla, my 10 year old saw a 78ish 280 in a garage and said "what is that??!!" I thought well that would be a lot more fun than a 99 corolla. Not that corollas are bad, we have an 04 and have 138000 on it. We've changed the oil and bought tires. thats it. nothing goes wrong with it. Anyway I bought an 83 zx 2+2 (cause i do have 2 kids) and was in love. It had a bitchin exhaust, a five speed and t-tops. It also had a working voice box which my kids thought was the best thing ever. They named…

Hey Y'all. I scored a deal of a life time on a '76 280. I am trying to determine what to do. My Z is all original and all there and un molested. Why I jumped on the car is there is very very very little cancer which y'all know is a problem. I am going to see if I can wake up this Z that has been sitting in a shed for at least 6 years. I was told it was driven in!?....we will see. So It needs interior (but its all there) and needs paint (my specialty). So all in all if I can get it to run Should I keep her stock and restore it?.....OR Customize it to be what I want? I was told that if I make her a hybrid I have a useless money pit and I will lose any nissan fan interest. S…

'ello all. Just picked up a 73 240Z this week. I actually rescued it from the crusher. The sucker even has a clean title. I've been (lazily) looking for one of these since my mother sold her 280ZX 2+2 years ago, and this one happened to blip on a friend of mine's radar. That in mind, my project list got shuffled a bit. While my Chevy truck still tops the list, I need to get this car on the road very soon. The engine seems ok (for sitting in a field for god only knows how long), but we'll see how it goes this weekend. I'm kinda amazed at how close the setup is on these to some of my friend's British Lawn Art. The body's been banged up, though. This car (mostly) survi…
