Hey, just wanted to introduce myself to everybody in the forum here. I joined because I'm interested in buying a Datsun 240z, or the 280. I'm not old enough to drive a car yet but have joined because I've heard that Z forums are full of friendly people. Anyways, that's pretty much it.

Lucked out and was able to pick this up last weekend. Same owner since 72 and has been in storage for fifteen years. Owner claims that is was never a daily driver and that the 92K on the odo is correct. Body is great, floors and rails will need to be replaced. Car was originally white with the blue interior but the PO changed it to the orange with a tan interior in the late seventies and had fiberglass fenders installed. Also included were a set of fiberglass rear quarter repair panels that he never used. To be completely fair the camera makes it look better than it really is but overall the body is in good shape. Here is a quick iPhone shot from when I picked i…

Hey fellow Z car lovers, names Eli. Just wanted to say whats up and introduce myself. I bought my first and only Z (1978) about a year ago and have not been able to afford working on it until now. Lifes been pretty chaotic so it's been hard to do much of anything really. But finally things are settling down and I'm wanting to tackle this beast of a project and pump some life back into this sleeping beauty. Only one real problem...I've never worked on a car before. :stupid: I REALLY need someone wiser and more experienced than me to take a look at the car. So I've come here hoping one of my fellow Z enthusiastic will be able to size up my project car. If all goes righ…

OK..... do you know why I'm posting here? You guessed it i finally got my own Z-car. I am the proud new owner of a beautiful blue 280z its model year is 1976. Ecstatic doesn't describe the feeling you get when behind the wheel of this beast. My 280 story probably starts when I drove out to Tennessee with my dad when I was in high school to pick up his first car. A brown 78 he had parked in a barn about 16 years previous. Even though his was left in a field for years after his "friend" put it out to pasture with the cows after the long awaited pick up, i fell in love immediately, the elegant lines the low sporty feel and the overall aura thrown off the car even one half…

I have the opportunity to get a '77 280z that has had some recent restoration done. I'm really excited to take on this vehicle for restoration tinkering but would need to use it for daily driving also. I have a feeling the experience may spark a desire for additional datsun projects! I'm wondering if there are any experienced restoration members of this forum in the Chicago burbs areas that I could seek advice from, and maybe assist in the consideration of the purchase. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone I just join the Site yesterday, I work alot so I haven't had the time to post pics of my Z but they will come. I live in Heidelberg Germany, I own a 1982 280zx witch my family and I call the RB250zx. We call it this because I have a NISSAN Skyline rb25det power plant under the hood with alot of time and money into the fine tunning and mechanics of this car. Nearly everything on the car Mechanicly is new and alot of the parts have been upgraded due too the motor swap. Im not going to name off all the mods but if you have any questions from the photos feel free to ask. Ill be putting together a photo album as soon as a figure out how to do it Hehe. Bryan

I just bought a 71 240z. It will be my first project car and I am very excited. It is pretty much stock except for new headers and a 2.5 inch exhaust system that the previous owner installed. The motor is an L24 and numbers matching. My aim is to mostly keep it looking stock and classic. The car has very little rust so I do not have to deal with that as a major issue. Right now I am trying to get all of the mechanical work done. So far I have replaced the fuel pump and filter. Next I am going to flush and clean the engine. I will continue to do research online and on these forums. Perhaps if any of you have the time, advice is greatly appreciated. I look forwar…
