Greetings, Everyone! After a 15 year hiatus of Z car ownership, I have returned to the fold. A friend found this nice example for me. It's an original paint ( 110 paint code ) 1972 240 with 90K original miles. It's typical of a fully dealer-optioned Z car. It was fitted with A/C, the 240Z sticker on the sill, Amco towel bars front and rear, Amco floor mats and those infernal slotted mags at the dealer. It's in pretty good shape. I fixed a fuel leak and then drove it home 1100 miles. I had to remove the Amco bumper guards, and while I was there, I removed the overriders. Ahhhhh. MUCH better. I've ordered some new dampers and brake parts to do a refresh on the suspen…

Greetings everyone. I recently acquired a black '78 280z from my mom, the car she used to drive in high school, and figured I should register here. It needs a lot of work, but should be a fun project. I posted a few pictures in other places and was told it was a Black Pearl but I honestly have no idea. The radiator support did have the #638 paint code if that means anything, but no pinstripes except for pink ones my mom had added. None of that truly matters to me though, I'm just in it for the fun. I look forward to being a part of the community.

Alright so I'm new here, I'm on HybridZ every now and then but I have a feeling I'll be on here and there more often now... I currently own a 93 honda del sol, it's my baby plain and simple. My ex has had a 76 280 for about 2 years, that she never really drove, and finally agreed to sell it to me. So. Once I pay that off it'll fully be mine, but for the time being..its at my house anyways I'm also picking up a 72 mg midget, regardless. My del Sol. is really no longer a suitable daily driver. It will more than likely be stolen if I leave it somewhere, SO this Z will make a great daily. Enough small talk though here's pictures of both cars.. And now that you've …

Hello, My name is Dave Patten. I am what most would call a rabid Datsun enthusiast. I own several Datsun 510's and race a Datsun 1200 coupe. I have owned a couple 240Z's in the past and truly enjoyed driving those cars on the street. I also operate a small on-line business called FutoFab. We are primarily a source for Datsun 510 composite body panels, but we do have a 240Z BRE style spook spoiler in our offerings. FutoFab has been approached to expand its line of products to include more Z car parts. I have joined Classic Z to help better inform myself of the needs of the Z community and to help out where I can. Thank you, Dave Patten Dunbarton, NH www.FutoFab.com

Hello everyone, My name is Randy and I am 26 years old; I have owned my 1976 280Z 2+2 since senior year of highschool in 2003. My Z was my highschool senior project and I was planning on rebuilding the engine and repairing the interior components and make the car legal to drive on the road. My main goal was to utilize this Z to be my first drivable car, take my girlfriend (now wife) to the prom, and graduate with this car. Unfortunately two of those things did not happen and lets just say that I graduated with it and got a B+. I first replaced the engine with one that I could rebuild better. My mentor, a long life friend of mine, and I tore down the motor I purchased and…

I just recently picked up this 280z for 525 which I feel is a pretty good deal for a car that is all there and a motor that turns over. 1977 Datsun 280z Automatic Can anyone identify these 14 inch wheels, have an R on the centercap. Rust doesn't seem to be too bad, has some spots on the rails but the hatch area looks good and the batter tray isn't too horrible. Car rear ended someone and bent the bumper. Doesn't look like it affected the core sport any though so it should be easily straightened. Let me know your thoughts

I just acquired a 1977 280Z. Now the fun starts. I received the car with all the parts like headlights and such all taken off for painting purposes. I have no idea how to get these parts back in the right spot and the right way. Any help with this process would be greatly appreciated. The biggest part I am missing is the hinges to the back hatch. Having trouble locating replacements for this. Any ideas??? Thanks Lloyd

Hi, New to the forum, not exactly a Z, however my "toy" is a Datsun 180b (or P610 if that works) rally car 2.2L L-18 engine, fuel injected (megasquirt ecu) 260z gearbox; R200 Diff (4.6:1) - custom Z CV driveshafts I'm about to undertake my first Z box rebuild, so thought I'd join and undertake some searching to get a few tips and tricks. Cheers, JAson & MARla (JAMAR)

Hi I am new to this site, have had my 77' 280Z for some time now, and love my car! but... have always had issues with it. electrically speaking I have bought over the last 5 years 6 alternators for the car, and 4 batteries. I am at a loss as to what the problem is. Everytime I go to the parts stores in town, they are always confused as to which alternator to give me. If anyone could help by giving me a model number and where to buy a better alternator, it would be sooo appreciated. Even if it costs a little more, it would be worth not having headaches to get it. And, do I need a voltage regulator? or will the alternator have one built in to it? Are there wiring harnesses…

Hello from Huntsville, AL! I bought a black 1978 280Z today so I figured I'd go ahead and register here. It's going to need a good bit of work, starting the with the key I broke off in the drivers door as soon as I got home. It idles a bit rough and running a little rich, and the interior needs some work too. The only things I found that aren't original are the CD player (not hooked up or doesn't work) and the battery. Not a dent on it, but the paint has a few bubbles in places. A/C blows, but no cold air. Hopefully it just needs some freon. It has 59K original miles and apparently was garaged by the owner for about 20 years after his son died. Overall, I'm very ple…

Hello all! I wish to say HI and do a brief intro on my self. First, I'm Steve and second, My mom just gave me her 1972 240. It has not moved in over 10 years so its going to need a LOT of luven! All the parts are there and the body is in fairly good shape! I know I am going to need to do a complete rebuild on it and I am ready for the task but I also know that many parts are no longer available so I well be asking a lot of questions on where to find or how to make parts. So for the next few years, please bare with me and my Z -Car ignorance while I stumble my way into this new world! Hope to learn and make a few new friends! Polecat
