Hello guys! I'm a junior in highschool and I have a 1973 240z in my possession. My current goal with it is to basically make it a daily driver and maybe take it around the track once in a while. I suppose the first thing (I've been reading a lot) would be to check the baby for rust. What would be the first step for that? Is it a task that is time-intensive? I don't think the clutch has been changed since the mid 80's and when I go over bumps too quickly, the suspensions or something is making some loud clunking noises? What is up with that? Any other tips, or anything like that?

Remember the college days when you were always broke and driving a clunker, (for me it was a 64 VW) , and always drooling over the kool cars saying one day I'm going to have one of those. Well its been 38 years , the kids are grown and gone , and I want a Z car!!!!!!!!!!! So I'm looking and thought I could get alot of good information from this fourm. I did buy a 1980 Triumph Spitfire a couple of years ago that I need to sell first , its not a show car and I'll let it go for 2000.00. The car runs good , I just want something with a little more HP . I'm thinking maybe a 280z . I have always liked the inline six motors. What do you prefer in a Z , carbs of FI , I know the W…

Hello, the "drunken" ex-wife of the previous owner of my z wrecked into a solid pole of some sort about 22 years ago. It was cheaply semi-fixed and repainted shortly there after. The Front end is leaning downward on the left hand side. The tube within the chassis is slightly bent. I need to know, Can I fix it. Doesn't have to be perfect, just straight. Car runs great, has about 100,000 original miles was sitting for 21 years in an airport hanger, hardly any rust. Car drives straight, just need to change tie rod bushings. All Ive done to it is change the wheels and carburetor configuration to a Holley 390cfm 4160. See the attached pics. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello guys... good to be here. I'm Brian from Indiana. Hopefully I can learn a little more about Z cars in general and even more about my car specifically. Long story short, my step dad passed away and handed the car down to me. I believe its a 79 Fairlady Z, imported in 84 then parked in 86.. for 22 years. We got the car in late '08 with 63k kilometers on the odometer. All the fluids were changed, gaskets, etc.. The car fired right up! We put a few miles.. kilometers.. on the car and it was obvious the clutch was shot, so me and my buddy Mark replaced it last winter with an OEM 79 280ZX clutch. I guess it has a motor that was only available in Japan, a 2.0L (1998cc) i…

Hi Everyone, I have owned my 70 since 86, I originally had a L28 with a e31 head, race Cam, a set of Triple weber's, full length headers, r180 with 4:11s I did most of the work myself which includes the V8 Conv in 88 in which I popped in a Chevy Stroked 400 the motor was built to slap the crap out of most cars on the street. over a period of time I had since moved on to raising a family and owning a home, my 240 has sat dormant since 05. I hope to revive it back to life and start smoking the tires again. I have a very good knowledge, and hope to help in what I can remember to others here! I currently own a 370z which I love, It reminds me so much of my 240 only with more …

I do not own a Z, but I've worked on one in preparation for the East African Safari Classic. I own a PA10 My main aim of joining this great club is to learn more about the Bosch L-jetronic EFI system that I believe is used in L24E. I have a 4cyl Bosch L-jetronic EFI system that I wish to adapt into my PA10. I have a few problems though which I'll post in the relevant section Thanx
