Hi everyone! I joined a few months back, before I dropped my car off at the shop for winter storage and a restore. This is the second 1973 240Z that I have owned. The first was in college and I still regret the day I sold her. It has been a long 20 years in getting one again. I was thrilled beyond belief to be driving one again the day that I got to take her out. I was sad yet excited to drop her off at the custom shop 7 long months ago. She needed some repair and a new paint job. Little did I know just how much repair would be required. Got a message today saying hopefully by end of next week she will be done. Then to the muffler shop for a new exhaust. Hopefully af…

G'day guys. My names Pete and I just become a member. I'm currently restoring a 1975 240k KHGC110 coupe. I'm looking for as much info as I can on stroking a L28 from a 280zx , what combination of rods/ pistons to use and what head is the best to work for N/A street and weekend track performance. Don't want to do any of this , just want to do this with lots of smoke behind me.

Hi guys, don't know if any of you remember me or not, its been way too long since I have visited here. I have come to find out that Z's really are an addiction. To be able to function in life without one, you have to remove all reminders of them. I've done really well over the years staying away and pretending that I don't need a Z.....until now. A little about me. I'm a Police Officer in North Carolina who has been doing photography on the side (www.446Photography.com). There has been a lot of changes in my life in the past couple of years. I have divorced and am about to get remarried. For those of you who are giving me that look....I've given it too...I have to …

Hi, new to the forum, so I'm posting here... to introduce myself.... in the introduction forum. My dad had a '79 810 when I was a little kid, and I learned to drive in my aunt's '81 720, and lo and behold, now I have my very own 1973 240Z! The catch is that it has been sitting for 10 years, so I have my work cut out for me, at least the engine isn't seized!

Hey, My name's Chris, I'm a 17yr old High school senior graduating in only a couple short months. At the moment I own a 2000 Acura Integra GSR, I've been working on it for about a year and it's turned out pretty nice. I've been brought up in a big motor sports family (always been around cars, dirt bikes, R/C cars ect.), and I'm ready to tackle my first real project car this summer. With the money from selling the Integra (5-6K, maybe a bit more if I take the time to part it out), plus the 5-8K I should be getting from my summer employment I plan on having a decent amount of funds I can put basically all of towards a car to get the project started. I've been considering op…

My girlfriend just bought me my first Z. A little history on it: I'm the third owner. Person before me had it for over 25 years. 1972 240z Built bottom end. He used to have a built head to match, but now has a stock rebuilt about 9 years old. Electronic Fuel Pump Mallory ignition Triple Weber 45 DCOEs 6-1 header Thicker radiator 280z rear end and 5 speed tranny And the interior is all still there in descent condition. No rust and descent paint (chips and a crack). I'm loving the car so far except the ignition switch kept getting stuck and I couldn't turn it off or on for minutes at a time. I got a used one and replaced it. Worked great! Now my starter went bad on me. Als…

Hello every one. Another new Z enthusiast here out of KC. I've been reading here for a month or two. Thought id chime in and say hi. First of all I cannot thank everyone enough for all the assistance on here!! Several of my questions found answers, I even found answers before I had the question, ha. THANK YOU ALL!!! Esp the member with the red gauges in his signature pic. This appears to be the best Z site for non-hybrids. Anyway. My twin brother bought a Z this past fall. The bug spread and 2 months ago I traded a old motorcycle for my very own. Before this I was leaning towards a MG, I'm glad my brother had the foresight. You just never see Z's around here p…

Hi, Two of my cars were recently wrecked by a drunk driver (a VW Jetta and a Dodge Ram Van), so instead of buying a new junker to get around in, I've decided I'm going to fix up my old 1972 Fairlady Z, that has been waiting for me since I left college and joined the Army. I'm hoping to make it nice and clean, somewhat modified, but tastefully so (eg. new rims, etc...don't plan on changing the lines of the car) wish me luck! James
