Last Sunday i was at my moms signing the papers over on my dads '77 Z, she sold it to me for $1.00. I had no idea what the mileage was to write on the title, the odometer has 18500 and she had no idea how many times it has rolled over. I had heard some story's from my dad but could not remember what the numbers were. I found some old invoices for repairs he had done back in '07 and he had wrote down 410700 miles

hey everyone, im anthony. im 16 and will be getting my license in august and will hopefully have enough money to buy my first car. i would really like to get either a 240 or 280 but im not sure if that would be a good choice, which is why i am here to find out. i have been lurking around this forum and rust seems to be the biggest issue with these cars. i know that the only way to get rid of the rust these 30+ year old cars have is to tear it down and replace the rust with sheet metal, but im wondering if it really is that bad to drive a rusty car. i mean, will it fall apart on me? dont get me wrong, i would love to tear the car down and get rid of all of the rust but i…

Don't really know where to start:stupid:, well how about what got me here...My 21 yr old son calls me from Oh and ask me to find him a good HB, He knows there good trucks from me owning two 86.5 in the past. I Found an 88 ext cab w/Z24 motor which by the way I feel it to be a very strong engine, Well only problem is the owner had tranny problems and pulled the tranny down and took it all apart and he really did not know what he was doing. Now I had two options either put it back together(never done but I been blessed in being very mechanical incline and been working on cars since I was 17, I'm 45 now by the way) the only thing is I notice some of the gears are alittle sho…

A long time ago I spotted a sexy beast of a car across the road from my apartment. Turned out it was a z... from that moment on I was sold. I used to be a '69 Mach 1 Mustang girl, but now I don't think I will ever find a car I like more than the old z's. I have just purchased dream car - she's gorgeous. 1975 260z in electric blue. The only thing is, now that I have her I am paranoid about losing her. She's been in my ownership for one day, but I keep reading on these forums about people losing their cars to rust. I am sure my old girl must have a fair bit. Would love any advice on preventing it. When I make loads of $$ would love to do a rotisserie as I have seen car…

Hey there, new to the site but not the car. I just bought a 75 280Z in pretty decent shape, some rust issues and has a goofy arse paint job which will go soon, interior is fairly good, car has a MotoSport body kit which was done very well, decent tires and wheels. Also got a boatload of extra parts as well as an extra L28 engine and 5 speed tranny, paid $2500 for everything. This is the 4th Z I've owned and am looking forward to making it into a show stopper. I'm now retired, so have lots of time, but not lots of $.

Hello, I just joined the site today. I currently own two 1974 260Z's One is pretty much stock. It has a 280Z shortblock with a 260Z head,it has a home made intake on it with a 390cfm Holley on it. It runs ok,and is pretty much fun to drive. My other 260Z is a former SCCA race car. The last trime that it was raced was in 2002. It has alot of different modifications done to it. It has a roll bar,and bigger swaybars,it has aftermarket struts on it,the differential was upgraded to a R200. It is not currently running though. I am trying to figure out what kind of distributer that I have in the car. It had an MSD box on it,and the guy that I got it from took it all off. The c…

The year was 1981. I was a freshman in college and my roommate purchased a semi-ratty 1973 240Z. It was a nice car but I never gave the car much thought. Until his father restored it during the summer between semesters. What he got back changed my view of the 240Z forever. I was in love with his 240Z and I had to have one. At the time nice examples were selling for $2,000 to $3,000 – way beyond what I could afford. A year went by and I wanted a 240Z more then ever. During the summer of ‘83 I got a call from my roommate. He told me that there was a 240Z for sale in his town that he “knewâ€ had to be sold because the owner lost his license and his mother wanted the …

Hey Everyone, My names Mike. It looks like my dream of starting a 240z is becoming a reality. I finally bit the bullet and started selling off parts to my last project. (The cars worth more in parts than it is all together, isn't that sad.) I'll be on the look out for a 70-73 240z in driveable condition but I doubt I'll actually buy one till next winter. At least that way I can plan out my build from start to finish so long as I start with a good base. I'm on the fence right now whether I'm going to swap in a Small block Ford or if I'm going to go inline turbo. :bulb: Maybe you guys can be the swaying factor on that, if it's acceptable in the Z circles. Here's m…

Hi Guys, My name is Dem de Bruyn and I live in Belgium, europe. My motherlanguage is dutch, in this little country we have three official languages: dutch, French and german… Okay, cartalk. I’m 28 years old and I have already a “toycarâ€, a California look vw beetle. Not familiar for you guys I guess, but the most important thing is that I built it to pursuit the real 70’s clean and fast look. It runs a 2179cc weber carbed engine and pulls 190hp on the dyno. A real fun and fast car but it’s time for another toy. Since my youth I loved the looks of the classic Z car and I think a 240 or 260 will do the trick for me. Pretty new in the scene, so I’m not …
