Hi everyone, I am a proper datsun petrolhead, I have just acquired a 1977 160 Z Coupe in a poor state, As you guys know there were only a few made. In most of the countries it is the same as the B210 sunny coupe. Only difference is a few stickers, suspension mods, sss 1600 enjin with twin carburettors. And only a few were made. We also used to get them in a 140 Z which was more popular. Twin sidies, fancy airfilter box with a Z on it, personal wheels. Both uses the L range enjins, 83 mm bore. Very interesting site, lots of car lovers out there.

I have been searching for a new fun car, have always loved Datsuns but hard to find good ones out here in Indiana. I was looking at some 240sxs as they are a dime a dozen but luckily I spotted this over the weekend in Chicago and just had to buy it (hope I don't regret it). Its a 1975 Datsun 280z. The body was very clean, almost no rust on it, the floor boards are solid, as well as the trunk floor and strut towers (typical rust places I check). I was more worried about rust than anything. The car started right up, but smoked a little. I have never worked on one of these... so I will be learning about them quickly! The interior isn't complete. Missing carpet and some da…

Hi everyone. After lurking these forums for a good long while, I figured I'd sign up. I finally got the car I've always wanted - A 1981 Datsun "by Nissan" 280ZX Turbo. I am so excited to get started on fixing up my new ride. Although it runs and drives fine, it will need a lot of work in the months to come. I'm not going to sell my Honda yet!

Just dragged home a 74 260Z. Everything listed below was dragged home, but left under its own power! It's going to need lotssa help. Not much frame rail rust, but REALLY bad paint, cancer around the hatch, missing various items. Not my first Z, about 25 years ago I owned a 72 240Z, which succumbed to rail rust. I didn't know then what I know now and think I can bring this 260 back from the brink. I don't do concours restos, I clean 'em up, get 'em driving and safe and maybe shoot on a little paint. Make 'em halfway nice then drive 'em like I stole 'em. The Z is next in line after my current project, a 71 Triumph Spitfire, which is almost complete. I've done a 73 VW super…

Hello Everyone: Bought my second 280z last fall. Its an early '77 and it needed a bunch of work. Hope to finish a mild restoration in the next month or so. Owned a 1978 back in 1980 for a couple of years till my wife informed me we needed something a little bigger (guess the kids needed a place to sit). Never had to repair much on the '78, as it was only a couple of years old. Always wanted another, so here I am. Looks like there is a wealth of great information here and some people who really know what they are talking about. I'll keep reading to get more educated. hollidayjd

Hello, great site and will be here often. Had a few Zs earlier in life, back in it after 20 years. Just bought a series 1 (9/70 prod #10112, E31 head,2400 valve cover,etc..). Been looking for an unmolested one for awhile and boy did I get it. But thinking beware what you ask for... no mods except a respray (slightly wrong red...ugh). Early CA blue plate, a little rust, I think(hope) not major. But EVERY rubber piece needs replacement (Bushings, w/s, are all falling apart). Most chrome/badges pitted or rusted. Engine not running but turns(hope not major, 2nd owner I bought from had for 30+ years said 77K shown is right, but could be 177). Not run for 16 years. Where to st…
