Hello, my name is Gene, and I just signed up for this sight. To be honest, I do not even own a z car,YET, but thought this would be a great place to start my research before buying. I have been messing around with cars now for some 20 years, and am confident I could handle a involved restoration project. With that said, I have my heart set on a 72 240. Looking to end up with factory stock. (for me, original/stock/factory is the way to go) This would be my first import/foreign project. Any advice that you all might have would be totally appreciated. I have down loaded the service manual off of Xenon, and been reading and familiarizing myself with as much as possible w…

I've been reading a lot and forgot to introduce myself. It's a great site to learn. Anyway I'm Mike. 54 years old. Home is Houston, TX. I've owned two s130's and two z31's. I sold my Shiro z31 awhile back and wanted to try an s30. I was really looking for a 280z because I'm a lot more familiar w/ EFI than carbs but...I found a 240. I was a little uncomfortable buying a car that was already modified but something about the stance and clean lines just grabbed my attention. Technically it's for sale due to financial reasons but I'm not trying that hard to sell it I'm hoping if I stall long enough things will pick up and I'll be able to keep it. If not then maybe I'll …

Looks like a great site for a new member with lots of questions. 73 240 is a new addition. Nice restoreed driver. I own a 83 911 SC, 66 Sunbeam Tiger, and Miata MX-5 (Auto-X) so you see where my heart is. Thanks for creating such a great resource. Encourage all to come and drive through our great state.

Hello everyone, I just signed up today... :)I am the proud owner of a 280z 1980, 10th year anniversary edition, gold/black, just purchased december 2009. This was my dream car for as long as I can remember... I am so in love with this car... My plan is to bring it back to shape... first mechanically then esthetically... I'll try to add some pic this weekend.

The Good-1 owner 1970(titled in 71-#13088) 240 with lots of original paperwork and recipts. Most body panels are realitively straight and rust free. Passenger seat is perfect and most of the interior pieces are there. Original spare sits in a rust free hatch. Runs and drives OK for a 40 year old car. The price is right-$2200 from a friend. The bad-Rusted through in one of the quarters and rocker panel. Frame rusted through where the sway bar conects.(seems common based on the abundancy of replacement options. Original steel wheels do not come with the car(period correct Alloys are on it currently). The $2200 should be used to finish any number of several projects at ho…

Well it's not a classic Z in the sense we speak of here, but it is certainly a Z. Stowed in a garage since 2002 and for this part of the planet, it is in very nice condition. Goes like stink (TT). Also found a turbo L6 for my 73. More on that later.

I got my 240z running with the pretty brand new 36000 original miles l28. So the thing isn't licensed at all and I'm a junior in high school who still hasn't bothered to get his license yet. I took a real chance but I had to do it. I gave my friends rides around my neighborhood and the thing is really out of tune so it eats up gas so fast. by the like fourth time driving a friend around the car just stops and I keep trying to start it and it goes for like a sec then stops. I got it to the bottom of my street and then the battery was dead from trying to start it too much. Well thank god I've got great friends who are willing to push it up a good sized hill. Totally worth i…

Hi, everyone. I am from Brazil, and an admirer of the Z classic cars. I am looking for a very good sample of the 240Z, year 71 to 73, to bring down here for my personal use and private small collection. After many years working hard, I have decided to buy 5 special cars from the 70s, and the Z is among them. If any of you have one in real excellent shape, pristine condition, all original and low mileage (under 50K), let me know. Another option for me is a 77-79 280Z, but I definetely prefer the 240.
