Hi all! Name's Dan and I'm the proud owner of a 73 240. The previous owner purchased the car in Dixon, CA in 1974 and drove the snot out of it up until its hibernation in Redding in the late 90's. Spring 2008 I purchased the car from him and brought it back to my house in Vacaville... which is less than 20 miles from the original dealership back in 1974. After a junkyard ZX tranny, a ZX distributor, and a tune up I had it running that summer and have since then continued the car's legacy as a "Lake Berryessa Runner"... something that this 240 used to do back in the 70's. I have also changed out the rear end to a ZX 3.90, replaced all of the hydraulic parts, buried myse…

I only speak two words of Spanish but I do like the word Hola as it seems very friendly to me. I'll include the other word later in the post Currently fixing up a shell that came in to the UK from the states and turned out to be much messed around with. I've only just started. This is the shell as it arrived: But it's muchos bent following poor repairs after a roll. So a chassis jig is needed for straightening. That was the job for this week (and I'll finish it at the weekend) but here's a sneak preview: I'm new to the Z world. So just a hi and how are you all. Might be able to post progress on here but (you guessed it) there might be a big gap as I've been…

It pass almost 2 years since the car went to the body shop. After spend a lot of €€€ in parts and body work, it went to the road the last week. There is always something to do, but I want to drive it before they (body shop and mechanic) go on holidays, so here it is. I want to say that in this site i found nice people that help me on something that i didn`t understand, (now i speak and read english much better) and i want to say thanks to a special person, that he did something that is unique. He bought parts from me, from MSA, Courtesy Nissan parts, Black Dragon, and someother places, he also let me order parts to his adress and them he packed it all and sometim…

Hello everyone! I have been lurking around here for a while now and finally decided to join up! I have been a huge fan of the Nissan Z cars for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until about a year ago that I 'discovered' the original line of Z cars. (240, 260 and 280.) I casually browsed through local ads for the better part of 2009 looking for a Z to no avail. I knew they existed in the US, but it would be a big hassle to get one all the way to Sweden. After moving to England for studies, I continued my search until one day randomly stumbling upon a 240Z in Surrey. The picture immediately identified it as a basket case, but I decided to head down and have a loo…

Hello all. I've owned my 78 280z for 8 years now, and I still get a huge grin everytime I open the door. The car was in great shape when I bought it, and I've tried to maintain it over the years. Last spring I parked it with almost 200,000 on the odometer, and began the ultimate tune-up. I pulled the engine, which still ran strong but was obviously showing its age. Long story short, Everything in the engine that required replacement was done so with parts from Motorsport, rings, bearings, pumps, clutch, timing kit, etc. I had to send the head out to a machine shop, for surfacing, valves, and that broken exhaust stud that's so common...Assembly went well, again using Moto…

Which version of the Z do you like better – the Z32TT or 350Z and 370Z? Who can take more abuse and better perfomance using after market??
