Long time lurker, recent member, very informative site/forums, kudos for the great community. Restoring a '71, build date of November, looking for correct steel wheels to accept the original 'd' hubcaps. I have been told there was a wheel size change in '71 (wider than '69-70), and am trying to ascertain the correct size for my car (so that I can source a set). Any casting numbers on original Z wheels? If this is the incorrect forum, please let me know. I researched the wheel forum endlessly, and am blind to this data! Thanks in advance- Jody

Greetings all, I'm here because I love first generation Z cars. (I like Jaguar E types as well but that's another story.) I bought my first (and only) Z in 1993, raced it (autocross) all of 1994 and by 1995 it had a 383 SBC in it. (I had a 1970 Chevelle prior to that with a supercharged small block and a Doug Nash 5 speed. I came to the conclusion that the best way to go faster would be with a bigger motor in a smaller car.) I met Mr K at the 1995 National Z car convention ( hosted by the Georgia Z club). I said to him "Thank you for building the Z car." To which he replied, "No, thank you for buying it." I have made a study of cars that I think a…

Hi everyone, great to have a resource like this on the web. My name is Markus, I am a Canadian living in Germany. My first own car was a '72 240Z when I was still in high school in 1984 back in Vancouver / BC. It was actually a real piece of junk, it had been in an accident before I bought it, and the front left frame rail was not quite straight. I was warned, but it looked just too cool, so I ignored the good advice. And it went like hell, I used to rat race other guys with their Camaros and made them look bad. I just loved it. A couple of year later I sold it. And over the years, it has been the only car I owned, that I always wished I could own again one day, this time…

Hello all, New member from the heart of Dixie. Not a new Z owner, but just getting back into it. Had a 74 260, 78 280,and a 79 ZX. Those are all gone now. I have just acquired a '78 Z , all stock, that is in good shape (very little rust) and will be my money pit for a while. I plan to rebuild the L28 6 cylinder, and the trans completely. I am on several other forums ,as you cannot have enough info and contacts when it comes to this stuff. Look forward to lurking around here and putting in my $.02 occasionally . :classic:

Hi my name is Mike, I'm an aspiring industrial design student hoping to get into the automotive design world. I'm currently looking for a college in California to get my passion on the road, so to speak. I've already started on a few concepts, but there nothing serious. I also do product design as well, got one design made into production. My first encounter with a Z, was in the front yard of my girlfriend's house. Ever since then I've fallen in love with Z cars. I've been looking for a Z car of my own, but we'll see how that goes. I really like the 240, 260, and 280z models. The 280zx is nice, but i really don't care much for the design influence in the 80's. The cars w…

Well I used to be a rotary guy kinda still am but figured I'd take a break and get into a car I'd wanted for many years. The S30. I'd been into RX7's for the last 5 years with my main car being a 1990 2nd gen rx7, which I had put well over 10k into. It was a great car and I will miss it a lot but I'm hoping to get the Z up to that level as well. Well enough about my rotary past and into the future. My new project is a 1971 datsun 240z it's overall a relatively solid car just needs a few things I'm sure everyone here is familiar with the things an old Z needs. On the plus side I got the car with a built motor cams, rods, pistons, etc., can't wait to get a ball park o…
