Hello All. Just thought I would introduce myself. I live in the UK {yorkshire} I am the owner of 2 x 240Z both under going restoration {all of which I do myself} The cars are 1973 and 1972. The spares scene over here is sad to say the least. I am rather hoping that if I see any spares I need that you would be good enough to consider shipping them to the UK for me. I can arrange payment by PAYPAL or bank transfer. I would like to add that if you need an emergency {hand brake} cable then I am having some made for the early Z's these should fit the 70 to 74 240 / 260Z. The cables are made as close to original spec as can be. They will use the original fixing clips w…

Hello Z lovers. I got my start on my 260Z in 2005 when I bought it from a junkyard ten miles away from my house for $400 bucks. I started to work hard on the car because it was running at the time and then college came and took all my time. I am now back on the project, and a long project it is proving to be. I just recently pulled the engine and tore it down. The block, the head, and the crank are in the shop right now and I am working on cleaning up the body. I just bought two new Weber Carbs with Cannon intakes to give it a little more power. The body is in a little rough but I am pretty ambitious and did I mention I love this car so I am confident that I will b…

This past Sunday I participated in a local car show and to my amazement there were a total of 3 Z's in the show. Out of a total of about 350 cars there was mine a 76-280, and two others. One was a 73 and one was a 2004 - 350. I have attached the pictures. The orange one is the first S30 that I have seen around the Burg in about 5 years. There were a total of 20 foreign cars in the show mostly MG and Triumphs. The white 350 had something like 200 mods to it and the lady that owned the car drove from state college just to be in the show. She was kind of upset that she was put in the super modified category and not the foreign car category. The guy that owned the ora…

Hi all, Just a quick hello from your newest member. I had a new one in 73 and sold it in 75 and I recently helped my 24 yr old son find and purchase really clean 76 280Z (94k with air). I caught the bug again and, after 2 months of looking, just bought another 240Z....this time a pristine 72 240Z convertible (125k with air)from a doctor's estate. Pick it up tomorrow. Life is good. I have a 71 240z that needs some t.l.c. It runs great, it's just some small things that i'm not sure i can do on my own. I'm not a very good mechanic. If there is someone in the area that might be interested in coming by to give me some direction, give me a holler.

Hi Im friends with a guy that has a 72 240Z and am doing some mechanical work for him. Doing all this work has really got me interested in getting a 240Z Myself. Just wondering if there are any Minnesota people on here? Had a few questions about the motor as I have never worked on one of these before. I've been a casual car guy all my life. My nephew just inherited a 1973 240Z and called me to help him get it running. We've changed oil, filter, air filters, coolant, hoses, complete tune-up. It now fires up and idles, but we have two issues; 1. At first it was getting no gas to the carbs. We found out about the second, electric fuel pump by the gas tank and after temporarily bypassing it, the car started and idled fine. 2. The clutch is very soft and the transmission will not go into any gear. I could use some troubleshooting advise on the clutch and also on how to remove the filter from the electric fuel pump (since a late year addition, it's not mentioned in …

Well heres the start,2 days in so far. Some of it goes backwards but why slack. Spray bomb in black what Ive done so it doesnt start any more surface rust. Then when I work on it agian I try to go atleast an inch into the black paint to start with and work away. First few pictures are when I first got it inside the shop, mind you the quality is horrible but its from my phone. The rest will be much much better. Doesnt show it complete but all the parts are there and then some. http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i156/eric_503/240z/ So far the biggest decision,do I braze or do I mig weld the patches in? And on the count,Ive had one person slam on the brakes and throw it i…

Good Day, We purchase two 1975 Z's. I am the second owner to mine...keeping it classic. My son has one that he just rebuilt the engine... it ran fine before except it had excessive oil link from worn rings. It went back together fine, the engine cranks, doesn't fire. Check fuel and spark both are fine. He removed all AC components. He has gone through the Z-Bible Any suggestions thanks

I'm only looking at Z cars right now, but the possibilities of the car are amazing to me. I'm curious to know what the weight of the L28 engine is when it's bolted into the car. I've got a few possible ideas, but I want to make sure that if I were to change the balance of the car, it's for the better. I've only got time on my hands, but I like to be able to put my ideas on paper sometimes.

Hi all! I got my first Z, 240 1970! HLS 30 030901. It took a lot of time and effort to bring it over to Russia. Yea, that's where it is now! I guess it is the first and the only one 240Z in the country. Great car, I love it! But here is the thing, the more I read the more questions I get. Some days back I found that my car engine is #L24 144330, which as I understood comes from 1972 or 73 year model. And the hood isn't original and so is the dash. It made me think, what is this car? I will post some photos, maybe someone can help me to figure out which bits of the car comes from which model. It may help me a lot when it comes to ordering parts! As the only place I can get…
