I am new to this club and to the whole online social thing. I am looking forward to talking to people here because I have recently purchased several cars in need of restoration. They are good buildable cars but will take a lot of work, I have restored cars & trucks in the past & then got out of it. I am learning a lot about parts sources now & look forward to all of your help that I can get here. Thanks, Mike

Hi. My name is Pat. I live in Granada Hills CA. I am about to buy a 78' 280z this weekend that i found in craigslist. I don't know about 280z's at all. I'm new to Vintage Cars. This will be my first time. I know how to work on newer cars, but not on older ones. Looking forward to learn everything on the Z with you guys. And meet with the fellow members... Thanks

I got my 72' 240z in Mar09 and now shares the garage with my wifes 06' Chevy HHR. My 01' GMC Sierra is a little ticked since it got ousted out of the garage due to the Z's weatherstripping around the doors & hatch are virtually gone (don't need anymore rust than what its got already). The Z sat outside for more than 10 yrs with minor work done (hood & 1 door) and hasn't ran since. I have completed some of the many rust repairs, driver side floor pan, hatch latch area and now getting ready to repair the front lower rear quarter panel, both sides. I've never done body work/fabrication before so this will be very educational. I just brought the engine to life a …

Hello everyone! I'm Chimmy, recently picked up a pretty bad condition 240z. I'm only 22, and have only owned my own car since 17. Been mainly a Honda guy for those couple of years. Had a Civic that I boosted: After a while I got rid of the Civic, picked up a pretty rough Prelude VTEC and fixed it up: Prelude became a straight line track car, so I picked up a z32 300zx as a DD: I lost interest in the Prelude as I felt I had done everything to it that I wanted to, so I sold it. I gave the 300zx to my brother since I couldn't handle payments on it anymore (became a daddy!). I needed something to work on, so I picked up a fairly cheap (and rusty) 240z that "run…

Hello everyone, I've been a member here since February and have done a lot of reading. I thought I had introduced myself before, but my profile states that I've never posted. My first post is asking for help and I haven't properly introduced myself. Shame on me!:stupid: Anyhow, my name is Michelle (Chelle for short) and I live in Reno, Nv. My husband, son and I have 4 Z cars. We have a 78 280z BP, a 78 Bronze 280z, a 74 1/2 Maroon 260z, and a 74 Silver 260z. All our cars are works in progress and 3 are drivers. Our 260's are our biggest project. 1 is a running parts car with a R200, L28, and a N42 with triple webers. All of this will be removed and installed in the oth…

It's nice to have found a forum dedicated to other classic Datsun/ Nissan Z enthusiasts! I bought a 1972 240 about a month ago and I am in the process of restoring it. I am also a member of Zcar.com and HybridZ.org, although my car is not of the mix and match sort. I restore cars for a living and while I am familiar with rotisserie restorations, this car is clean enough that I will not be going to that length, but I will be cleaning it up from every angle. Here are a few pictures of my $700 machine when I got it.- Over the course of the past month, I have finished the restoration of a few things that will be going back on the car once I have the bodywork and pain…

Hello, to start I'm 44 & I have 3 boys... Yea! My youngest is Brent (age 9) he is like me into all things cars. He has grown up with all the talk about RHD cars, he Loves them... & he is Left handed, so I know he's still 7 years from a drivers license but it's never to late to start thinking about a car. I found this 1979 Nissan Fairlady 280Z for sale. It needs a lot of work but runs... it was brought to the US from Japan. So it's a factory RHD car. After 3 days of thinking about it.... WTH, I got it for a high price of $900.00. Now was it worth it & where do I keep a car for 7 years while I restore it W/O him finding out about it? I know.... Good Luc…

Hello i am new here. I have a 73 240Z with a 280Z turbo engine. I bought it several years ago and it has never ran. The engine has been rebuilt and installed. It has an electric fuel pump and after market regulator. All the fuel lines are off. Does anybody have a basic drawing or schematic on how to hook this up? I am a rookie here, and i dont quite know how to search the threads properly. This car was stripped down to the very last bolt refinished and painted. Looks great but i am going to need some supprot to get it back together. Help please
